Fire Down Below (DVD, 1998)

This movie is not one of his best. He only fights a few times & instead tries to focus on telling a story. He does deserve credit for opening some eyes about the issues concerning the environment which are quite serious. However, for Seagal fans this was painful to watch, there just was not enough action. Only diehard Seagal fans will ever own this or want to own this. Seagal made a name for being an action star & for his awesome fight scenes butt instead he goes soft & tries to be an actor instead of the action star he is.

If you enjoy Steven Seagal and his action movies, then this is another one that is right up your alley. He is an undercover Federal agent investigating a major toxic contamination in a backwoods Kentucky rural area. He is up against a highly corrupt business owner, the small town Law Enforcement Department that is being paid off to look the other way and also has to deal with the mistrusting attitudes of the local people who see him as someone who is prying into affairs that are strictly local and personal. His mastership of the martial arts comes into full play throughout the movie, along with his soft spoken manner. Highly enjoyable, although the ending is somewhat predictable. Overall,,,easily 3 stars plus.

A truly good movie. Steven Segal really grings out the frustration and drive in his character. He is complemented by Marg Helgenberger, who allows for a softer side of Segal's character to be revealed. There's a perfect balance of conspiracy, action, romance, and thrills in this movie.

this is a very action packed movie, showing how an outsider is normally treated in a small town or community. it shows what a person has to go through basically to perform a job that he has been instructed to take care of. this movie shows how corrupt persons can change an entire town or area, you get different reactions from all types of people. would recommend this movie to all that would like to know what people of various areas go through.

Enjoyed the story line and mostly enjoyed background sound track which seemed to tell a story as well along the same lines. I have watched this movie several times and still pick up things I have missed previously.
