I got hooked on this series watching it on A&E. You get to see the case as it plays out. The detectives are great! They all have big personalities and work hard to solve the crime. Like real-life, they aren't able to solve all of the cases in the 48hrs allowed for the hour program. Every episode is unique. It's amazing how some people are able to commit murder without batting an eye.
There are 7 full episodes on this dvd set. Gritty and fast paced. The First 48 raises real-life suspense to a pitch never before seen on television. I like that they take you from the homicide to the crime scene to forenics processing to interrogations and eventually an arrest.

What I like about it is that it has alot of suspense that pulls back to the T.V. screen & keeps you eager to want to find out more & more! What I love about it is that it's a time frame situation! Which means every HOUR, MINUTE, & SECOND matters therefore the police have to race to solve the cases! What I don't like about it is sometimes they don't always find all of the killers! I decided to purchase this DVD because it's a must have in your DVD collection!!!!!

I love the 'First 48', and this DVD included some of the most extreme cases I have seen on this show. It includes 12 episodes 11 from the show 'The First 48' and 1 from the show 'Miami Vice PD', which I never heard of but has the same concept and includes some of the same Detectives. Personally I wasn't that impressed with that episode. I went through the DVD in 2 days, and wish they included more 12 episodes. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I love these dvds. we watch the first 48 everytime it is on tv, and now the dvd is out its awesome!this show is so interesting,it shows the way to solve a crime, it is REAL stories, not some fake bogus theme like some crime tv shows, and though often sad and graphic, most of the time their is justice at the end. the characters (detectives)are wonderfull, you get attached to everyone of them. Its just a great show overall.

I found this dvd to be very interesting and informative. As you get a homicide units personal look at different crimes and how crucial it is to get as much information to solve the case in the first 48 hours upon finding the crime scene. This dvd contained episodes that mostly took place in Miami, Florida and (West)Memphis, Tennessee. Also a segment from Kansas City, MO and Kansas. If you're intersted in law enforcement and police work, you would probably like to watch this dvd.
