First Kid (DVD, 2003)

Sinbad doesn't always get the credit he deserves as a comedian or comedic actor, but he delivers in this effort.

Sinbad plays a Secret Service agent who is put in charge of protecting the President's son. Neither is happy with the arrangement as Sinbad's Simms would rather have the glory assignment of protecting the President and Luke would rather be a regular kid who isn't shadowed by a bodyguard every moment of his life. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll laugh some more, and you might not even care that the script is a play-it-by-the-numbers straightforward affair. The acting is sufficient for what is asked by the script, and the plot is predictable but still makes you feel good at the end.

This movie is strictly good, wholesome fun for the family. Don't go into it thinking anything else.

Sinbad is hilarious, of course, and First Kid makes a nice family film that is both okay for kids to watch, and it won't bore the adults either. Also has a slight message about dangers of meeting online friends in person.

I love Sinbad in this movie. I bought it because it was one of my favorites. I had it in VHS format but not as a DVD. I used it as treat for my 1st grade class. They loved it. Thanks for having it at such a reasonable price.

If you are looking for a funny movie this is it. It is well thought out and has many funny scenes. It is the story of a young boy who has difficulty adjusting life in the White House. It is a great movie for young children because it is very easy to understand and is entertaining.

My son loves this movie and we needed it on dvd. He and his sister use to watch it when they were very little kids. I recommend this movie to any family and it will quickly become a family favorite.
