The First Wives Club (DVD, 1998, Widescreen)

This First Wives Club was an excellent movie. I avoided it on the movie shelf at the store for years until I finally made the move. Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn are hilarious in this flick! Diane Keaton was given the perfect role.

The movie is about three women whose husbands/ex-husbands have left them for other women. Goldie Hawn, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton star in this movie about three women who bring their husbands to justice for all the women of the world.

This is a movie one could watch over and over again without getting sick of it. It's a favorite!

There is such fantastic talent in this movie and the story is fantastic. Three old friends, with their own set of problems, come together in the wake of a friends suicide over a common problem. The soon realize that revenge for the sake of revenge serves no purpose. However, forcing their ex-husbands to help others, in the same situation, by opening their wallets is much more rewarding. The First Wives Club theme song "You don't own me" is a statement that they have broken free of the mental bonds that were holding them back.

I have this in the VHS form but I wanted it on DVD. I watch it over and over when a need a good "out loud" laugh. Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, and Goldie Hawn have such great chemistry in this movie - they're all a bit "touched" but they set out to do something and they succeed well above their expectations!

It's such a funny movie yet it sends a message at the same time...don't get mad...get even and then some.

If you buy it, you'll find yourself watching it over and over - it's truly that sensational!!!

The First Wives Club is one laugh after another as three wives begin to reek
havoc on their exhusbands,they start by investigating where their money is so
they can go after them. The wives are played beautifully by Diane Keaton, Bette
Middler and Goldie Hawn. The ex- husdands are wonderfully played by Dan Heyava,
Stephen Collins and Victor Garber.

I watched this movie the first time in the theater. I knew instantly I would keep it as one of my classic never gets old movies. I had it on VHS, and now have updated it to DVD.
Its three women joining together after the death of a friend for support, strength and understanding. They get so much more and revive their friendships.
Three women taking different life avenues, coming back together and realizing how much they have in commom. Its funny, uplifting and entertaining.
