John Carpenter, Where Are You?

Created: 27/01/06
Not quite up to the John Carpenter original. Maggie Grace is no Jamie Lee Curtis (and she gave up her day job on Lost for this?) Selma Blair turned in a better performance than Adrienne Barbeau (not that hard to do). Mostly a frame-for-frame remake of the the original, although the ending is different and imaginative. Carpenter's fog creatures were scarier than the ghostly creatures used in this production.

Actually Better the 2nd Viewing!!!

Created: 12/10/06
The first time I watched this I would have given it a 1/5 but it actually got better the second time around for some reason. Tom Welling does a great job in this but it seems the rest of the cast kinda forgot how to 'act'. I'm not sure why this was remade but the original is better considering what they had to work with. And the ending to this version is so mind numbingly stupid I can't stand it. The only thing this movie proves is that one good acting performance cannot save a movie from it's own mediocrity. Can't recommend anymore than just renting. 2.5/5

The Fog (2006, DVD)

Not being a horror movie fan I found this movie to be an excellant ghost story although it did have some spots that were a little to tense I liked it enough to want to watch it again.
I would and have recommended this movie to other people to watch even the ones who don't like horror. Everyone loves a good ghost story.

I bought The Fog because it has Tom Welling in it. I am big fan of his work and haven't seen it yet.

The FOG REVIEW

Created: 25/12/07
The Fog was pretty good, but I can't see myself buying it. There is no incentive for me to buy it. It is a very good rental but lacks in almost every aspect of modern films. If this movie was made in the eighties I would be praising it with 5 stars, but we are in a new genartion of HD and high depth stories.

2 out of 5
