Product Information
Fracture advances players to the year 2161, where ecological and seismological disasters have radically altered the planet's landscape, and a clash in ideologies places society on the threshold of war. Players set foot on the frontlines as Mason Briggs, a demolitions expert fighting for the Atlantic Alliance. Pitted against the genetically enhanced soldiers of the Pacifican army, players will experience a revolution in 22nd-century warfare.

In utilizing the core gameplay mechanic of Fracture, a destructive technology known as Terrain Deformation, players are equipped with an arsenal of futuristic weaponry to strategically reshape their surroundings on the fly. Every action they perform dynamically reshapes the earth in ways no videogame has ever seen. When Briggs throws a tectonic grenade on a level battlefield, the ground blasts upward to provide access to an otherwise unreachable area. Moving on, when he comes across what appears to be an impenetrable structure, Briggs utilizes the alt-fire functionality on his rocket launcher to create enormous craters to burrow underneath the wall. Surrounded on all sides by enemies, Briggs heaves a vortex grenade, creating a swirling tornado-like mass of boulder, dirt and debris to dispatch his foes. These are just a few samples of the possibilities for Terrain Deformation. Players not only change the battlefield – they change the face of the battle itself.

    Fracture: Frustrating, but fun

     | Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.

Saw this game and decided to get without knowing how the game looked/played. For the price I paid ($4.99), I have no gripes. At first, did not like the game due to the enemies that surrounded you with gun fire when you are trying to get a grasp of the game play. The game can be annoying at timees due to how long it takes to complete an Act. However, the game has it fun aspects, in which you can change the terrain (lower or higher the ground). The two best weapons to have are the Pacifican Machine gun and the Raptor. Once you get a feel on how to play the game there should no problems beating the game. Overall, it is a game I would recommend for those who want to something to play to past the time.

    Welcome to The Future

The game was very good, the graphics are great, this game has some puzzles some that are challenging and some that are easy or super easy. The game play is really good.Sometimes you are punching the heck out of someone or hiding behind cover using you sniper to get the enemies from a distance or throwing grenades to kill multiple enemies or using a mixture. There is lots of different weapons and grenades like the sniper, your fist, rhino, vortex grenade, and more. The game is sometimes challenging, but that makes it fun because its not just shoot and kill shoot and kill, sometimes when you lose your energy from your shield you'll need to hide behind cover. The sound is great and realistic. The puzzles make the game more fun and exciting.Sometimes you have to fix something or find a different way in things for some puzzles. The camera is good unless you are stuck in a corner.I haven't run into any glitches so far. There is only one code for the game that i know of that changes the skin color of your character (Jet Broody). The story is exciting and things will happen that make you think of what you thought would happen. The acting is perfect....just great. The Terrain Deformation (TD) makes the game that much better than it is and not much games have that.I recommend this game to any gamer. This game was made by LucasArts. The multiplayer i have never played so i can't say anything about that. There is Weapons Testing which is pretty fun if you want to relax and practice your skill (to unlock the Weapons Testing you have to find at least 10 data cells first in the campaign).

Overall I rate this game a good 9/10

a good game, not a great game

    Created: 20/01/09
its a solid game. nothing is too glitchy or anything. the character moves well and combat is solid. the earth moving ability is interesting and can make the tide of battle change dramatically.
however, its got nothing to tie you in. the badguys are relatively uninteresting. the leavel design is occasionally a little vague on what you need to do, even with the "help" icon directing you. the main character is just a guy. substitute him with anyone else and you still wouldn't care. i don't hate him like x-play or game informer does, but he's really boring.
if you played jericho, haze, timeshift, or any game like that, you will feel comfortable with Fracture.

    Fracture a fun game.

    Created: 23/08/09
What i liked about fracture is the unique weapons that give you the ability to change the terrain to outwit and defeat your opponent.
What i did not like about fracture is the fact that there was nothing special about the game. Besides the terrain changing ability if you take away the ability to change the terrain the its just another shooter.

    Fracture - Great Environment

    Created: 25/05/10
Fracture is a good sci-fi first person shooter with a great virtual environment and interesting weapons which alter the play environment. The controller configuration takes some getting used to and is a bit complex, but the training module is well done and helps in learning the controls. Not quite as good as some other well known sci-fi first person shooter franchises like 'Unreal Tournament', but well worth playing.
