A film masterpiece after 20 years!

In 1988, a motion picture was released that was destined to become a landmark in cinematic entertainment. "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" became the highest grossing film of the year, as well the most critically acclaimed film achievement. This film would susequently go on to win a total of 4 Academy Awards, including a special achievement Oscar. This combination of live action and animation is very reminiscent of other films such as "Song Of The South", "Mary Poppins", and "The Incredible Mr. Limpet". Seeing the actors interact onscreen with their animated counterparts is a brilliant sight to behold. Bob Hoskins is perfect as gumshoe detective Eddie Valiant, who is hired to solve a murder case while drowning his sorrows. Joanna Cassidy is equally memorable as Dolores, the barmaid and Eddie's lady-friend. Christopher Lloyd truly outdoes hilmself as Judge Doom. The character of Roger Rabbit is wonderfully voiced by Charles Fleisher, who also does Benny The Cab. Kathleen Turner gives an uncredited performance as Roger's wife, Jessica, while Amy Irving provides her singing voice. The unique and excellent mix of cartoon characters from the different studios together in one production is a whole lot of fun to watch; especially seeing Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse parachuting together, or watching Daffy Duck and Donald Duck playing dueling pianos in The Ink And Paint Club. Even Betty Boop makes a cameo. This DVD also features all 3 Roger Rabbit cartoon shorts- "Tummy Trouble", "Rollercoaster Rabbit" and "Trail Mix-Up". It's like having your own Roger Rabbir film festival at home.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (2003, DVD Vista Edition)

I have loved this movie since it first came out in theaters. It was one of the first modern day movies to combine live action and animation along with a great storyline. Over the years I've bought the movie in all the various formats it was released on: VHS tapes, Video Disc, two formats of Laser disc and the original DVD. Any time that a promotional came out ie: Tummy Trouble, etc..., I got the individual shorts as well but only on VHS.
This DVD has combined the movie, with all 3 shorts and tons of special features. THX certified sound, deleted scenes from the original movie, storyboards, audio commentary and more. In addition to all of this, there are also 2 "studio photos of Roger and Jessica signed by each of them." :)
A definite buy in my opinion.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (DVD)

I loved this movie. Ever since I was a child and saw it for the first time, I have loved it! I was excited to see that there was a DVD available of it. Before I found this DVD, I had not seen the movie in about 13 years, although when I watched it, it was just like being a kid again. The movie is about a cartoon rabbit that gets framed for the murder of jokester, Marvin Acme. Before his death, he promised all the toons of ToonTown that in his last will and testament, he would leave ToonTown to them. After his death, the will was undiscoverable until later stumbled upon by accident by Roger Rabbit. The movie is filled with action, comedy, love, and lots more. I have no complaints and am very pleased with having found it. Gladly recommend to anyone 13 and older.

I have loved this movie since the 80's. It's the perfect mix of various famous cartoon character (Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Bettie Boop ect.) with human interaction and some great actors as well such as Christopher Lloyd and Bob Hoskin. It's a zany movie with hidden jokes and great movie lines that can be used anywhere. And even though it can get a little sexual it is done in a way that kids won't pick it up. It had to be done this way since it is a Disney movie. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves comedy and/or cartoons especially classic characters.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit? DVD review

When I recieved this DVD set, the first thing that caught my eye was that the front cover was actually shiny and glossy and looked very nice. Inside the 2 DVDs and extras are held in a leather journal looking paper holder. Inside the 2 DVDs and the paper extras were safely protected by the hard plastic holders for the DVDs. Both Full and Widescreen versions of the film are included. I also enjoyed the menus with Benny the cab being my guide. The 2 disks split the extras up. The "family friendly" extras are things that children can enjoy while the "Enthusiast" extras are for adults that want to see in depth how the movie was made and things that may just bore the heck out of children. The only real down side to this DVD set is that the Fullscreen version is not in 5.1 surround sound. The widescreen version is though. Overall, it is a great old movie that shows how far technology has gone since 1988.
