Friday The 13th - The Series: The First Season (DVD, 2008)

Not to be confused with the slasher Jason wearing the hockey mask though the same name. I have been waiting for this series finally to come to DVD. One of my favorite series of the late 1980's. The first episode is about Lewis Vendredi, a owner of a antique shop. He made a pact with the devil to sell various cursed antiques but soon broke the pact and that cost him his life. Both the Uncles neice Micky Foster and her cousin Ryan Dallion inherit the store. They sold alot of the cursed objects to unsuspecting customers before being stopped by a old friend of the original shop owner named Jack Marshak. The original manifest is found hidden in the ceiling of the store and contains the list of the cursed items. The trio are in search of the cursed objects to retrive them and return them to a secret vault located in the basement under the antique shop. Most of the stories in the series deal with people using the cursed objects for their own personal gain. All of the cursed objects grant either the user’s deepest desire or some extraordinary power. The series aired for just three seasons starting in 1987. I am waiting for the 2nd season to come out! Highly recommended!

I am so glad that this set is finally available. I have been looking for this for some time now. The was the Best show and what a shame it only had 2 seasons.
I love the storylines with the various objects and seeing what ability they had. Some of the objects were so cool it made you wish you had one! For those who love the Paranormal, this is a must have for your collection.

An "Awesome" SCI-FI series! Not to be confused with "Friday The Thirteenth" the movie, with Jason Voorhees!

I am a big fan of reconnecting to my childhood. I really enjoyed this series and a few years ago i was excited to hear that the series was available. I was discouraged when i made my first purchase from another seller and the copies were decent vhs copies on dvd formats. I returned them and just figured I would have to wait for the digitally remastered era. I was nervous purchasing this copy from a new seller years later and I was delighted to see that the copies were terrific and I am happy to be reunited with what I consider to be a fun and eventful childhood. Thanks!

One of the greatest strength of that series is the storytelling. Each story is amazing. You learn about the curse associated with a given object, you see how that object affects the people who use it and the people it is used on, you see how the main characters evolve throughout the series after having seen so much horrible things happening. The show is about friendship, greed, sorrow, loyalty, betrayal,love,hate and all things that make us human. There is drama, comedy and horror. This show is really a gem from the 80's. Yes, the look of the show is a little bit dated BUT the stories and the interaction between the characters make you forget all about it. Too bad they only made 3 seasons...
