Friedrich Compact Programmable CP05N10 Air Conditioner

Friedrich air conditioners used to be solidly manufactured. I bought a couple of large ones several years ago. They are sturdy and have been working without any problems. Now I needed a smaller unit for my bedroom. I chose Friedrich again because I knew these units to be reliable--and because they were manufactured in San Antonio, Texas. Yes! They were actually made here in the US, by workers receiving living wages and enjoying some basic protections. Anyway. The Friedrich website revealed that production has recently been moved to Monterrey, Mexico. I was disappointed, but still moved ahead with my order. My unit arrived today. The first thing I noticed is that the box says, "Made in China." So, if any production happens in Monterrey, my air conditioner certainly was not made there, but rather by underpaid and exploited people in a Communist dictatorship. Unpacking revealed many decidedly cheap aspects of the unit: the fan is plastic, for example, and there is no rear grille to protect the brittle evaporator coils. Still, not to be entirely negative, the installation was easy and well thought-out. Let's see how long the unit will last.

works fine just only stays blowing cool air for a few mins probly every 10 mins hopefully its an easy fix!
