Fringe, X-Files with a bizarre twist, I love it.

Fringe is what the X-Files might have been, had the series taken a more bizarre turn. While Fringe deals with things the X-Files would have turned it's nose up at, Fringe still hits the mark in amazing ways. There are the 4 lead characters, my favorite being the nutjob Walter Bishop. He is a lunatic/brilliant Fringe Scientist who knows more about the world we live in than anyone else on the planet, that is when he can remember, and is not thinking of food. Then there are the two other leads: FBI agent Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop (son of Walter) who have a non - acknowledged romance/attraction going on. Lastly there's Broyles the head FBI guy who directs (Sort of Walter Skinner with a twist, if you are an X-Files fan). Great show, every episode has my finger nails ground to the core as I watch in anticipation of what will happen next.
Rod.

Fringe Season 1
Created: 07/03/10
All over the world, a series of apparent experiments collectively referred to as " The Pattern" (e.g., a newborn baby who rapidly ages and dies within a few minutes, a bus full of passengers trapped in a strange resin, like mosquitoes trapped in amber) are occurring for reasons unknown. Olivia, Peter, and Walter are in charge of investigating these strange events to determine their source. Connected to the Pattern is 'Massive Dynamic', a megacorporation which is a leading global technology company, holding the patents for a diverse number of new and significant technologies. Their enemy is ZFT (Zerstörung durch Fortschritte der Technologie), a bioterrorist organization which is orchestrating all of the strange occurrences in order to prepare for a destructive technological singularity. Tying both sides together is a nootropic drug, called Cortexiphan, that was developed by Walter and his partner, William Bell (now chairman of Massive Dynamic), which Olivia and a number of others were treated with as children. Events also reveal to the viewer that a tragedy had occurred to the Peter of this universe, and Walter had abducted the alternate universe's Peter to replace him, though only Walter is aware of this knowledge. The first season closes with Olivia meeting William in a parallel universe where, among other differences, the World Trade Center was not destroyed by the September 11 attacks.

The lines between science fiction and reality blur ...

This is a good serie if you liked x files you shoud like this one. It is different .... more scientific ..... Dr Walter Bishop (John Noble) is such a great caracter!!! Just to see this psycho scientist work for the FBI is a real pleasure .. His son Peter Bishop (Joshua Jackson) who as to babysit is father is fun to watch too. Father and son have both an impressive IQ and they are quite different. All the caracters are good. And the stories are good too so I would recommend it for peoples who like these kind of supernatural, metaphisical, scientific series . A bit redundant if you watch to many episodes at once so make it last.... and enjoy !!!

I'm not a huge over-the-top science fiction person, but I love this show because it is just close enought to reality to be believable. I really got into the show on TV, and every episode had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next. Unfortunately a hectic work schedule and lack of DVR made it impossible for me to keep up, so buying the season was a MUST. Definately a great show, well written, with a cool "off color" sense of humor.

This is a great show for anyone who was a fan of the hit show LOST and may be looking for a new show with the same caliber writing as well as the same style of twists and turns in the plot they loved during LOST. Fringe is also a show that anyone who loved the X-files will enjoy as it carries the same style and mix of conspiracy theory and super natural phenomenon. Fringe truly is one of the best shows on TV today and with 2 seasons released on DVD and Blu-ray and a third on the way it’s one that can keep you entertained for quite a while!
