Product Information
Follow-up to the first PS2 Fullmetal Alchemist game --- 2003's Tobenai Tenshi (Broken Angel). Hagane no Renkinjutsushi 2 continues on the action-RPG roots of the previous title but improves over the predecessor with new features and gameplay elements. The story once again focuses on main character Edward Elric. This time around, Square Enix is starting the story off from the first chapter of the original Fullmetal Alchemist cartoon, but plenty of original scenarios are planned as well. Animated sequences feature heavily in the game, playing during major story sequences. Teamwork with Al once again takes a central role in this title. As with the original, you direct Al using the R1 shoulder button. However, this time around, Al automatically chooses the most appropriate action for you depending on the situation.

Excellent Follow up To Broken Angel

Created: 24/07/07
If you're a fan of the FMA anime, this game is the perfect follow up to Broken Angel. Most aspects of game play are greatly improved. Ed's moves are slicker, his open handed fighting is a lot cooler, and more in character, since he doesn't just automatically have his automail transmuted all the time. Al's AI is much improved too. He seems to have learned how to run around things that are in his way for the most part. Another nice addition is the voice acting in the spoken parts of the story, not just in the FMVs (which are also somewhat improved in this game btw.) I give the game a 4 out of 5 only because it's really largely a fan service game. I loved it. I'm a fan... I think if I had come into it cold with no knowledge of the series, I might have found it a bit confusing at first since it's not as clear as it could be what's going on in Ed and Al's life right at that time. Like Broken Angel, the storyline is an insertion point, implying that it's some little side venture that Ed and Al went on that wasn't shown in the animé, but which could very well have happened between a couple of things that did happen. This story does follow the beginning of the series for a short while, so it's easier to see what's going on... you start with about the same amount of knowledge you have starting animé and go on from there. If you are already a series fan, then I think the game could be a 5 out of five for you.

Sry. Got the review and feedback mixed up. But the game IS great. If you enjoyed the first game you're sure to love this game. There are lots of new things that Edward can do in this game like being able to transmute weapons from the ground instead of having to find something to transmute into a weapon. Edward moves a lot more while fiting and levels up easier than the previous game. Its a great game and I highly recommend it!

This is an excellent game and I beat it in one week. It's a lot of fun and the graphics are really good. This is one of my most favorite Anime shows with a great story and plenty of action. I bought this game because I had the demo of it for a long time and I couldn't find the game in any Game Stop stores so I decided to find one on ebay. This compares to the first game which I have with similar game play, but not as good graphics as this one.

Pretty good game

I played this about a year ago and it still is fun to play in my opinion. It is pretty close to the anime storyline, but not exactly though as the story fades off into its own. The gameplay is pretty good too. but ill admit it can get boring from time to time, depending on what you do.

Overall, a pretty good game to past the time.

The game is good for gamers who are tolerant about the game's flaws. It has really anoying loading times between areas, but the graphics are well developed. The gameplay is also excellent in comparison to the anime series. For any fan of FMA it is perfect, but if you're not a fan, the games story wont catch you in the beginning, only after a couple of hours will you be drawn in to play it. Other than that, the game is pretty good.
