Movie synopsis

The action anime series FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST explores epic themes of hubris, personal transformation, and spiritual quests through the tragic story of two grievously wounded siblings. While attempting to resurrect their dead mother through the forbidden art of alchemy, brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric suffer a terrible accident that severs two of Edward's limbs and traps Alphonse within a suit of armor. In a desperate bid at healing their injuries, Eric joins the state army with the hope that his travels will help him discover the fabled Philosopher's Stone, a mythic artifact with the power to restore life. FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST chronicles the brothers' dangerous journeys through an innovative blend of action, science-fiction, and drama, captured here in this collection of the series' first episodes.

I purchased the total series of Fullmetal Alchemist and have watched the series from start to finish.

This particular one is the first of thirteen discs in the series
(not counting OVA movies)

An intriguing buy indeed and if you are an anime lover, you will definitely enjoy getting this series.

This is an excellent addition to anyone's anime collection.

One of, if not my Favorite Anime

Created: 02/08/10
I loved the Anime Series a lot. I find the story original and interesting and after finishing watching it I decided to buy the whole series. I bought the Volume 1 NEW separately since the one I got with a Used Tin Starter 1 was used and missing the art booklet which I think is part of the collection. Never the less, it's a great product. :)

The begining

Created: 09/09/07
This is number 1 in a 14 disc collection and the one that will have you hooked! The story is always action filled with little filler, and the characters are extremely likable and easy to sympathise with. With 13 discs, which is 51 episodes, of the tv series and 1 movie to tie it all together, you will be engrossed in this series for quite awhile. I spent 2 days watching every episode and the movie with just a few breaks for bathroom and food and sleep. The only time I was dissapointed is when it ended, they better bring it back with a new story or just a continuation would be fine with me!

Anime at it's best

Created: 03/04/10
Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the better animes available these days. The original 51 episode + movie series stops following the storyline of the original manga after season 1 (so about half-way). If you are only interested in the original story then you should deffinately go and watch fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood which was made to follow the original.

This series however does make a twist that I rather enjoyed. The writers made sure that the plot lined up and the explanations and reasoning behind events all amde sense. aniplex is a very good anime studio and i would highly reccomend that you see this series all the way through.
