The book was just what I expected it to be.

I remember reading "Fun with Dick and Jane" with my children and now I am reading the book with my greatgrandchildren. I know these books are not the in thing in schools, but they taught my children to read and I know they are helping the greats learn too.

    Dick and Jane classic readers

    Created: 17/02/10
Oldie but a goodie. My 5 year old loves them because she can read them by herself for the most part. A lot of the "beginner" readers in stores now are too long or have too many hard words for her to read all by herself. The story lines might be a little tideous but with a she can read the first 1/3 of the set even though her bank of sight words is not too big.

Your children need to read this book.

I think that this book is something that all kids need to read. I read it when I was young and now I am looking to have my first little one read it. It was published in 1961 (years before I was even born), but it still is a good solid book. It has large print and 43 different stories. The book features the good old fashioned pictures that still bring a smile to my face. Some stories are just for fun, others have moral lessons that little kids can pick up on.
