Gallop Racer 2006 (Sony PlayStation 2, 2006)

I have had many hours of fun playing this game. Buy a horse as a two year old and chose its career path. You have the option of which race to enter it in and how to ride the race. your riding can make it or break it. You can even place a bet on your horse or any other horse in the game.one way to beat the game and have an awsome horse is to buy a cheap horse then go into edit and change the horse's stats. set them as high as possible and choose how well it runs in the dirt or on turf and how often it can race. This will earn you a huge chunk of change as well as have a horse that will kick butt in all the races.
Another unique feature is the bredding barn: choose your mare and stallion, decide if its a good match and breed yourself a little baby racehorse. You actually see the horse as a baby! Its so cute! Another way to take advantage of the system isto save prior to creating a foal. if its not great or you think you can do better either save the game in a new slot or just reload the game without saving andf try again!
The only thing I don't like about the game is you can't edit your horses that you make yourself.

This game is one of the very few Christmas prestents that the new hasn't worn off! Our whole family just loves to play Gallop Racer 2006 for the Playstation2.
We had owned a horse racing game several years ago and thought that it would make a good Christmas present because it would be fun and easy for the girls (ages:4 & 9) to play. All four of us have our own little race horses. Our favorite part is picking the parents and having a baby, getting to name it then race it.

Have enjoyed the Gallop series. '03 version still holds the spot in my heart. But '06 once you get going has all the attributes & then some. Just to get started & into the game will loose most of average players. So do what you can to get over the learning hump & you'll be running down hill for many hours to come.

Very realistic, challenging, always fun to play. Mirrors many real life horse races. You can make your own horses and name them and pick out silks, etc. for your horses. Races are always exciting to run in. Nice diversion from all the non-parent friendly games available. Graphics are so much more realistic than other similar games. There is a much wider variety of modes that you can play in, the possibilities are almost endless.
