Garmin eTrex Camo GPS Receiver

Originally I purchased this simply to replace my older Garmin 12, and to aid in my geaocaching but found it to be useful for navigation and general information as well.

The biggest selling point is the high sensitivity antenna, and to that I say WOW!!. This unit has been able to keep a signal in places the older unit could never think of. For instance: inside buildings, under bridges, and in deep woods. This unit keeps the signal. Let's not forget the high resolution color screen. Its sharp, clear, and easy to read (even in low light situations). The unit's basemaps are basic, but good enough to navigate the highways. Of course it may have cost a bit more, but if given the opportunity to purchase another, I would.

I purchased a used 2006 model Garmin etrex. It works great. A basic field GPS unit for locating points and navigating. Primitive by 2010 GPS standards (black and white, I don't think it has detail map download capability, no base map) it will get you back to camp in unfamiliar country. Don't know where else I could have gotten this much GPS for $23.

it serves its purpose well. recieved it today and wife and kids went geo caching and found stuff this afternoon. it will also keep me from getting lost this fall hhile hunting in the mountains. it is smaller than my blackberry. runs on two aa batteries so no expensive batteries to find and buy.

this is the second one of these I have bought, I liked mine so much I bought one for my son. These are very reliable and easy to use. I can't stress enough the usefullness of a good GPS for hunting!!

Great GPS, easy to use. It replaced one we lost and our ebay purchase was one-third the price of our original and just as good as new!
