Bought the GPS for a bike rally in FT Worth that I was going on the 5th & 6th of May.Ft Worth roads are allways under going repair,and I am not familiar with the Dallas,Ft Worth area.Even when detours had to be made the Garmin quickly had everything back on track.The volume on it was loud and clear,very good GPS.With this Garmin I never even came close to being lost or even worrying about it.If you seen a place you wanted to come back to later,you just punch a few buttons to save coordenance and save,easy to do.A freind has a Tom Tom that cost 3 times as much that is a real piece of crap,I know this for a fact,we went to a seminar back in Febuary using it,He is now going to get a Nuvi.I'm very pleased with the Garmin.

I purchased the Garmin nuvi 1300LM to replace a nuvi 855. Big improvement! The nuvi 1300LM is brighter and faster with a more responsive touch-screen. The Lifetime Maps (LM) feature is a bargain; I paid less for this item on eBay than the cost of a one-time map upgrade for the nuvi 855. The electrical attachments for the nuvi 1300LM are simpler and less bulky than those of the nuvi 855. I have not yet checked out the voice nuances on the nuvi 1300LM for "Recalculating." On the nuvi 855 she always sounds slightly irritated which irritates me.

Great device ! I love how large the screen is so I don't have to squint to see where I should make my next turn. Not only is the screen large but the device itself comes with some great features. Yes you might have to pay for some extra things like changing the voice of the navigation and so on but if your into that and want to customize your Garmin then it wont be a problem.
I also love the fact that it gives you an estimated arrive time.

I bought this Garmin from oldest GPS company the second time due to high quality. I like everything about it except that the map needs to be upgraded.I could not get one address in one town to come up and notified them. They said they will update the software. But it has worked very well for me. The charging adapter is not included but can be purchased from Garmin. However the unit can be charged by connecting it to the computer or to the car when driving.
