Getting Started on Acoustic Guitar (DVD, 2002)

I bought this DVD as a gift for a friend just starting to play guitar. Kieth Wyatt is a great guitar teacher, already have several other books and media, so I knew this DVD would be a good bet for anyone beginning. I watched most of the DVD before I gave her the gift and was impressed by what I saw.

Just wish this DVD was around when I started playing guitar,(1969)it would have increased my guitar learning process by at least 2 years, no kidding!

Kieth Wyatt has a real gift for being both an accomplished guitar player himself, as well as an encouraging guitar teacher.

If your thinking of learning to play guitar; save yourself some of the trial and error trauma of trying to learn to play on your own and just buy this DVD; you can thank me later.

I rented this dvd from netflix to see if I liked it first. Then I bought it off of ebay. The instructor is very clear in his instruction and goes slowly enough that anyone could learn from him.

Purchased to supplement learning the guitar at home in between lessons with teacher. This dvd was highly recommended by instructor.

This Dvd is possibly the best learning aid for the beginning guitarist I have ever used or seen - Fender has done a great job by bring Keith Wyatt to this DVD - every aspect of getting the new player off the ground as quickly as possible is here - in a very down to earth manner and with great precission and knowledge that few people ever achieve - the beginner is taught a vareity of chords and strumming that gets them playing song faster than anything out there - all I can say is - AWESOME

The DVD is in good quality overall but, the content of the DVD is very limited on information and for a beginner on acoustic guitar needs more on-hand instructing such why you do thing that way. The instructor beging playing the fundamental of acoustic guitar and making chords with his finger but, it goes so fast that its needs to display in another way so the viewer be able to capture where is the finger are place in slow motion...with more patience to the viewer...
