Don't be misled by the "traditional" tag, however. Like most contemporary R&B, Jaheim's music is deeply influenced by hip-hop, and the layered, top-tier production from KayGee (of Naughty by Nature) gives this album a smart, sophisticated sheen that is undeniably 2006. The appearance of rapper Jadakiss on the single "Everytime I Think About Her" further updates the sound. But the ghost of Marvin Gaye is certainly milling about GHETTO CLASSICS in the form of the smooth, sensual vibe, the album's themes (love songs about commitment, devotion, and family), and in Jaheim's expressive, well-controlled romantic croon. In short, Jaheim mixes the traditional with the contemporary in perfect measure, making his solid third release a sure bet for fans of old- and new-school soul.

A good cd but not better than Ghetto Love!

I love Jaheim period and will buy whatever he puts out! There are a couple of songs that I feel sound alike, The Chosen One and I Ain't Never but it's cool. Daddy Thing hits home with me and Like a DJ is my JAM!!! That's one of my "ride" songs. When I'm having a ruff day, I can put that song on and it relaxes me to a point. Overall, I would recommend this cd to diehard Jaheim fans such as myself! Enjoy!!!

New-Age R & B

An R & B music collection has to contain Jaheim's music, so I bought this CD because I have to have him.

Jaheim's musical vocalization can't be disputed, for this reason I had to rate this CD five stars.

One unfortunate aspect of Jaheim's music is that his producers don't allow him to sing enough on his tracks. This is very evident in his first two CDs. His talent is eclipsed by the background singing.

When Jaheim is allowed to carry an entire track, with very little background singing, we all are going to hear one of the best male R & B singers there ever was.

Supposedly, the singing voice improves wih age. WOW, I can't wait to hear him as he develops.

I love Jaheim, so I tried, really I did, to like this cd. I can actually say that there is one, O-N-E, song on here that was worth hearing. Hopefully his next will be as good as his first two.

I thought that this cd was excellent. It has so many smoothe tunes on it and I really liked each one. I decided to buy it because I like Jaheim and I have the other cds by him. He is a great singer and I hope that he has many more cds to come.

Ghetto Classics [PA] * - Jaheim (CD 2006)

This CD's is an average CD. I was slightly dissapointed with the number of songs on it. His previous two releases had at least 17 to 18 tracks. This CD only has like 12 or 13 track and not all of them were very impressive.
