Like a small-screen version of THE SIXTH SENSE, CBS's popular television series GHOST WHISPERER is a supernatural drama of the paranormal. Executive produced by real-life medium and author James Van Praagh (TALKING TO HEAVEN), the series centers around a small-town antiques-store owner, Melinda Gordon (Jennifer Love Hewitt, PARTY OF FIVE), who realizes she has the ability to communicate with ghosts. Melinda puts her unique skills to work by helping the dead find emotional closure while depending on her paramedic husband, Jim Clancy (David Conrad, ROSWELL), and her friend and business partner, Andrea Moreno (Aisha Tyler, FRIENDS), for moral support. The series' debut season is presented in its entirety with this collection of 22 episodes featuring guest appearances by Wentworth Miller (PRISON BREAK), Anne Archer (THE LOST WORLD), Christine Baranski (CYBILL), and Katey Sagal (MARRIED...WITH CHILDREN).

Totally unexpected! We found another great show. We love the idea behind the show - main character (Melinda Gordon, played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) can see and talk to the dead. In doing so, she helps them pass from this world to the next (heaven, etc).
What's great about this show is that the stories are so touching. Each ghost has to find closure before they can move on. No two episodes are the same, but the feeling remains the same - you love that one can person help so many ghosts find peace. What also ends up happening is that the family of the ghosts also find peace and closure.
The show gets its sense of authenticity from Executive producer, author, real-life medium James Van Praagh. This is a must see show.

) Ghost Whisperer is a terrific show, usually so shmaltzy that i'm choked up by the end of the episode! (I guess I'm a sentimental slob!) Each episode is well-made and well-written with good pacing and a story that develops logically--luckily most people will talk to Melinda. Sometimes the husband acts totally whipped, and the companion Andrea has a better role is some episodes than others. Jennifer Love Hewitt is believable and has the best cleavage of all of the TV psychics! It is totally different from Medium (which I also love) in tone, saying that there is a way things are supposed to be. If only it were so!

Ghost Whisperer: The Complete First Season (2006, DVD)

) I bought this complete first season of Ghost Whisperer in used condition from ebay for entertainment purposes. My decision to buy it was based on several reasons: (1) It was considerably more reasonably price than buying the DVD set new (2) although I do not watch much tv, I recently discovered the show and found it to be interestingly different (3) The time was right in my life to give up an hour or two a day to watch tv so why not watch something fun and entertaining? This set of movies qualifies for meeting this goal. It has been great fun watching these movies for my family and me. I highly recommend it and haven't any complaints with it being in "used" condition nor in the entertainment aspect of it. Two thumbs up!

One of the best shows on tv. If you like Medium, you'll love Ghost Whisperer. I used to hate Jennifer Love Hewitt but she is really good in this show, and now I really like her.
