GI Joe: A Real American Hero: Season 1.2 (DVD, 2009, 4-Disc Set)

The first season of GI Joe is a must have for those of us who grew up on GI Joe in the 80's! The first season is divided into 2 sets, 1.1 and 1.2. The first episodes of 1.1 are a little rough and often corney. In my opinion the 1.2 DVD set is the best of the 3 sets (season 2 aka 2.0 is the third). In the second half of season 1 the cartoon series seemed to really hit its stride with more character development and intersting story lines as opposed to season 2 where characters and story lines became a bit cliche. To complete your DVD collection all 3 DVD sets are a must have but I think you will find Season 1.2 the most enjoyable.

G.I.Joe: A Real American Hero- Season 1, Volume 2 is a great collection of fantasy military stories, continued from Volume 1. It's good vs. evil and it's amazing to me how back when these were first on TV, I associated Cobra with the Nazi Party and the evil charaters still do, but these days, we have another terrorist group to worry about and Cobra reminds me of them. G.I.Joe is made up with the best of the best freedom fighters in the United States. They come from all walks of life. Cobra is made up of the most evil terrorists set to rule the world and make everyone worship them. The shows are entertaining but can be a little scary for very small children. Some are more fantasy such as dealing with the supernatural, etc.... Most of the original characters are still featured. There are a few newer ones. Also there are some bonus features included.

just like growing up!!! this set completes the first season of gi joe. takes me back to my childhood, collecting the figures and watching the cartoon.
