Gilligan's Island - The Complete Seasons 1-3 (DVD, 2005, 9-Disc Set)

When this series 1st aired I was 6 yrs. old. It quickly became my favorite TV show! It's popularity thru decades of syndicated reruns proved it to be a timeless classic of 60's comedy. While some feel the humor too low brow or even "stupid" to this day I get a chuckle & a warm feeling from most episodes. The show's casting was perfect, writing was unique, over acting & comedy timing right on the mark.In recent years the show had disappeared from TV entirely.I knew my 9y.old son would love the show as I had if only he saw it once! Now not a day goes by where he doesn't hum or sing that catchy theme song,& begs to see his favorite episodes over again.With 100+ epies it will take months to view them all. I 1st saw season 1 (black & white) for sale in a store several years ago for 50+$'s. For a little more I got all three seasons (the last 2 in brilliant full color) with greater picture clarity than I remember! If this was ever 1 of your favorite shows or if you might have that 5 to 12yr. old castaway at your house you can't go wrong with this DVD set.So, light a signal fire, watch for a ship,hatch & botch a rescue plan,& if you make it back to civilization don't forget to tell them we are stranded here on Gilligan's Isle

We checked out season 1 at the library. The kids wanted to see more and we couldn't find season 2 or 3, so decided to buy the set for a birthday gift.
The kids sit and watch intently and laugh so hard. It was the perfect gift for me as an adult as well. It took me back to when I used to race home from school to watch as a kid. Good, simple, fun. The kids keep begging to watch again and again.

I was so happy to get the 3 seasons of Gilligan's Island. Just to sit back and watch these episodes brings back the memories of yesteryear. The television stations had stopped airing the Gilligan's Island reruns and we missed watching it and my husband told me how much he missed it. I told him to look on eBay I was sure there would be some listed. Well he didn't so I did and I surprised him with all three seasons. If you liked to watch Gilligan's Island rest assured all episodes are available on DVD!!!!

I like the capability to buy a complete dvd set. As for dislikes, I haven't had a chance to view all dvd's but for the several that I have viewed the sound quality is very poor with weak volume although the picture is good. The reason I purchased them is I collect TV series programs such as this one & many others.
