Gilligan's Island: The Complete Series Collection (DVD, 2007, 9-Disc Set)

Original Gilligan's Island TV Series episodes contained on multiple discs for each of the three seasons the series was televised. Quality of the DVD's are better than what was televised in 1963, '64 and '65. Very clear black and white picture, with excellent sound quality. Initial disc contains the pilot episode with unfamiliar actors with the exception of Bob Denver, (Gilligan), and Alan Hale Jr., (The Skipper), which is fascinating, especially with the narrative from Mr. Schwartz, the series creator. Subsequent discs contain multiple episodes, with brief blackouts, perhaps 2 secs at most, where commercials would have been broadcst on TV. Overall, watching the nostalgic shows is a fun and often a hillarious good time! Recommended DVD collection for fans of the 1960's family friendly programs! - Tom (CDASYS)

Okay, what can anyone say about G.I.?
I had the Pinball machine...
I was very happy to be able to buy the entire collection of G.I.
After so many years of watching, many of the lines are ingrained - was great to see again...
"Gilligan my boy.."
"Ah, Mula, Mula!"
"Even Steven, give me back the weapon."
"Bodies cold but beds still warm."
"Ohh, you steem grasses."
Both sides of the discs are silver/blank - so you need good eyes to see which season/disc it is (mouse type)- but I guess you couldn't put labels on them because of that.
Good quality of discs, plus, the lost pilot episode where there is a different Professor and two secretaries instead of Mary Ann and Ginger.
Cheapest place I found it was on Amazon - cheaper than Walmart even...

Gilligan's Island is the greatest TV series ever! Appropriate for all ages. No filthy language, it is wholesome and clean. I L!O!V!E! Mary Ann, one of the 10 most beautiful women in the world, with such a sweet personality. From the golden age of TV. The 1st season is in B&W, the 2nd and 3rd in color, the 2nd season is my favorite but there are many great episodes in all 3 seasons.

This is a wonderful collection of the series with select commentaries by the show creator, original pilot episode, nicely packaged box set that I would highly recommend to any Gilligan's fan--if you are not one to begin with, you will be after viewing this.

I wish I could give you a review of this series right now, but I haven't received it yet. smile. I purchased this item as a gift for my grand daughter, age 8, who loves to watch Gilligan's island. I know how much I loved to watch it as I was growing up, and I don't think there is an episode that I didn't see. I served my years in the navy and had dreams of landing on an island like Gilligan did. ha ha... Now I'm 65 and I live on an island just like they did...My grand daughter looks at me like I'm Gilligan, so I don't think their could possibly be a better movie series for children to watch as they are growing up.
