Gilligan's Island - Third Season
Created: 08/07/07
Though Gilligan and his fellow castaways will remain forever marooned in syndication, the series' network run actually did come to an end in 1967 after a three-year run and 98 episodes. The final 30--which for Gilligan fanatics, include many of the show's best--are compiled in this three-disc set, along with input from creator Sherwood Schwartz. It's not known if Schwartz knew that the series was headed for cancellation, but he and the writers definitely appear to pour on the steam in season 3 to produce some of the series' most imaginative episodes, many of which break out of the island sets through dream sequences; these include the season kickoff, "Up at Bat" (after being bitten by a bat, Gilligan dreams of being a vampire); "Pass the Vegetables, Please" (the castaways gain extraordinary powers after eating radioactive produce); "The Producer: (Phil Silvers guests as a Hollywood director whom the castaways attempt to win over with a musical production of Hamlet); "The Invasion" (the discovery of a government briefcase leads to Gilligan dreaming about spy capers); "The Secret of Gilligan's Island" (a stone table leads to a caveman dream), and so on. A cruise ship's worth of engaging guest stars (Don Rickles, Rory Calhoun, Strother Martin) and amusing performances by the always-game cast make this final season a worthwhile addition to any Gilligan groupie's collection. And doubling its value is commentary by Schwartz on "The Producer" (arguably, one of the best episodes of the entire series), and a featurette about the show's impact on pop culture. --Paul Gaita

The Final Hour of the Island Tour
| Yes, I would recommend this product to a friend.
Created: 25/10/11
Gilligan's Island, the three hour tour no one wanted to see end. Unfortunately though, end it did. The series came to an abrupt finish after this season. But being the final instalment did not stop it from being funny to the last.
Clumsy yet lovable Gilligan, loud but hilarious Skipper, stiff but comedic Thurston Howell the third, kind hearted Lovey Howell, intelligent Professor, feisty Ginger, and of course the wonderfully sweet Mary Ann. The mixture of island castaways has never been any better than in this season.
Collect this final part of everyone's favourite three hour island tour and you will laugh and enjoy watching the escapades of all these characters that you will love seeing time and again no matter how much it was cut from being its full potential. They are waiting, waiting for you to see them make every attempt of rescue... right there on Giligan's Isle!!!

Joy time for the whole family
Created: 26/11/08
Bought this set with the fear my kids wouldn’t accept the simplicity of the 60’s TV shows. I was prepared to see them alone and… SURPRISE! My kids are super fans of the series.
We have set the rule of only see it when the whole family is joined. We have laughed out loud together. My pleasure is double: the show itself and enjoying the happiness of my family. Gilligan and his unconventional castaway compulsory friends brought home great moments to spend together.
I thought I was going to remember every single episode, but I was wrong… even when the personality of each character is very clear to me, every episode is full of surprises. My husband never saw Gilligan when kid (gosh! Was he isolated on an Island?) and he still enjoys the show tremendously.
Besides the adult vision of the show I have three kids’ perspectives: every single episode, my 9 year old is hoping they will finally get off the island, my 11 year old understands the show is about staying there and my 5 year old doesn’t really care… she only laughs about whatever happens.

Gilligan's Island the Third Season DVD
Created: 05/01/09
The third season of Gilligan's Island is the same crazy cast as the other two. This season has more dreams where the characters are filmed in different places than the island. There are more guest stars than usual. My husband loves Gilligan's Island and every Christmas I bought him another DVD.

Gilligans Island DVD

My kids like to watch TV and I like them to watch shows that I am confident do not have an agenda, teach them bad habits or have any negative affect on them. Gilligans Island is an innocent kind of show. The color is much more vivid than I remember. I'm very pleased with my selection
