Movie synopsis
This award-winning WB series is an intelligent, heartfelt drama about a mother and daughter navigating their turbulent world together, as both best friends and family members. Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham, BAD SANTA) is a young, attractive single mom living in idyllic Stars Falls, CT, and her high-school daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel, SIN CITY) is her closest confidant; the two share an independent spirit, a taste for literature, and gorgeous blue eyes. Lorelai had made a break with her conservative, old-money parents, Emily (Kelly Bishop, DIRTY DANCING) and Richard (Edward Herrmann, THE AVIATOR), when at a very young age she decided to keep her baby when she became unexpectedly pregnant. Since then she has been forced to turn to them for financial help with raising Rory, and a tenuous peace has been restored. Mother and daughter are essentially growing up together, supporting each other through relationship difficulties, college worries, and life in general. The first four seasons of the show are contained here.

) Gilmore Girls is a series that can be enjoyed by many people. My husband and myself both enjoy sitting down to a few laughs and even the occasional tear. In fact, his ex-wife, his parents, and a lot of our friends have all become fans of this show as well. The emotions are real, the story is believable, and the characters are quirky. It's always enjoyable and new episodes are looked forward to each week. We own most of the series, and they are often on loan to others.
The story is about a single working mother who had become estranged from her parents, and is raising her daughter in a small town. The Gilmores (her parents) become involved in their lives again in Episode 1 of Season 1 when Lorelai (mother) can not afford the private school (Chilton) that Rory (daughter) gets accepted to. This school is a major step in Rory's dreams of attending Harvard. The Gilmores agree to pay for Rory's schooling in exchange for Friday night dinners every week.
This series follows Rory and Lorelai growing up, and dealing with the changes that happen in life. From changing schools, to new/potential step-parents. First loves to unfaithful partners. Friends and lovers (nothing inappropriate shown) to rivals and exs. It is about life.
I for one highly recomend this show to anyone that enjoys drama, comedy, and pop culture. There are a lot of pop culture references in almost every episode - purchasing the seasons means you get the Guide to Gilmorisms which explains any you may not know if you care to look them up.

I love the DVD's. They are US version which I was conscious of when purchasing. On season 2 now and no problems. Like the show because it is like watching my daughter and me. Good entertainment. Tells a story and you just want to keep watching to see what happens next! I want to buy the remaining 2 seasons...... Great product.......

) My daughter and I have enjoyed the series over the years. She keeps taping the episodes, but this way, we have the tapes to watch at our convenience.
