    Product description

    Synopsis
Bee, Carmen, Lena, and Tibby are about to be swept into the exciting, sometimes worrisome, beginnings of adulthood. Each girl is headed to a different college: Brown, Williams, RISD, and NYU await them. But before they go, this special summer holds unknown possibilities and experiences for each girl, some difficult and painful, others exciting. Bee must face a boy from her past with a maturity and levelheadedness that she didn't know existed, while Carmen feels like she's making the wrong impression on a stranger she meets in the hospital. It's time for Lena to leave the nest, and that means challenging herself to make the right decision. And Tibby is having some serious trouble coming to terms with her feelings about Brian. All four bravely meet their challenges head-on, taking comfort in, as always, the Pants. This is the third book in the best-selling Sisterhood series.

The members of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants graduate from high school and spend their last summer before college learning about life and themselves.

    Publisher's Note
The Pants first came to us at the perfect moment. That is, when we were splitting up for the first time. It was two summers ago when they first worked their magic, and last summer when they shook up our lives once again. You see, we don’t wear the Pants year-round. We let them rest so they are extra powerful when summer comes. (There was the time this spring when Carmen wore them to her mom’s wedding, but that was a special case.)

Now we’re facing our last summer together. In September we go to college. And it’s not like one of those TV shows where all of us magically turn up at the same college. We’re going to four different colleges in four different cities (but all within four hours of one another—that was our one rule). We’re headed off to start our real lives.

Tomorrow night at Gilda’s we’ll launch the Pants on their third summer voyage. Tomorrow begins the time of our lives. It’s when we’ll need our Pants the most.

    Industry Reviews
"[T]he girls are once again wonderfully drawn, with all their realistic faults."
    Publishers Weekly (12/20/2004)

"Four intersecting story lines, snappy dialogue, empathy for characters and humor make this installment as enjoyable as the others. Legions of fans will enjoy spending another summer with the girls."

    purchased for my daughter

My daughter received the first book in this series from her father - she fell in love with the book. She knew there was a DVD of the story but did not realize there were this many books in the set when I found these books online she was thrilled. She has read them and re-read them at least twice now. They are books she will not give up. I am always getting updates on what is happening with the girls in the books. My daughter is not the best of readers but has always had a love for reading. It is nice to have a decent set of books for young teenage girls to read and enjoy and WANT to read.

I baught this book for my 11yr old daughter. She has all of them now. She really loves these books! I do think that some of the topics are over her head, but for the most part she really identifys with the girls. this book is the last summer the girls are together before they go their separate ways to college. I would recamend you read the first two before this one. there is alot of back story.

    happy ending

    Created: 29/12/08
This is my favorite 'Pants' book. I thought that this wrapped up the story quite well and some of what happened in the last book seemed overdone and just too much. I would have been perfectly happy had this been the last book. There was conflict and self discovery and then in the end, the bonds of sisterhood. Excellent story I highly recommend the series.
