Godzilla Collection (DVD, 2007, 8-Disc Set)

Nothing satisfies some people out there like Godzilla can and being a big Godzilla fan, this one of the finest collections I've found yet.

The DVD collection delights any fan wanting to get back into the roots of Godzilla and learn where he all started. Even the fact these movies are rated as the best of the original series makes it rather comforting. Never fun buying a pack of movies to find out they all stink, no way not with this amazing bundle. You got great sound, quality, commentary and a few others features. Honestly its like somebody actually took the time to make this as impressive as it could be.

And of course you switch between the original voices or the dubbed version. Still works greats for newcomers and keep the original fans satisfied. Recall picking up some other Godzilla DVDs and they only had an English dub, what a mess!

Only regret could bring up about this is that wished to have found out about it sooner. Other then that, its been on the finest purchases towards the King Of The Monsters.

Lastly want to add how great quality of the DVDs and the whole product looks. The cases are strong, beautiful to look at are very impressive even if their on their own. Again proves there was a great deal of effort being put into making them.

So hats off to this monstrous package and all the classic and enjoyable fun that only Godzilla could deliver.

Okay, I admit it, I grew up loving the Godzilla movies in the sixties, so yeah, I will cop to being an itty-bit biased on the subject, but I had to have this set immediately after discovering it, and not just for the fact that they show both sides of each movie. The commentary tracks on the movies are an invaluable source of knowledge and little known (and occasionally previously UNKNOWN) trivia about the making of these movies and the time periods that they were filmed in. Also, the special features are not to be missed, as they offer even more insight into the creation of the series (the one about the making of the first Godzilla suit and the abortive attempts to wear it on disk 1 is both amusing and informative). It is my dearest hope that Classic Media will be making follow-up collections to this set to cover all of the big guy's movies, forming the definitive Godzilla collection, but as of yet, the only other Toho movies that they have done this with are Rodan and War of the Gargantuas, both available in both the original Japanese and in their US release versions, on a single two-disc set which is also available here on Ebay and which I recommend just as highly.
For all of these reasons and the many more that you will discover on your own as you explore these fine DVD treasures, I highly recommend this collection to you whether you are a die-hard fan or just a casual watcher!

Godzilla is the best! Not one thing did I dislike about it! Good action, I always have loved monster movies! To find a collection like this for so cheap is the best thing ever! Whoever reads this,I suggest you buy these movies!

This is a great dvd set.My 4 year old grandaughter and I watch these videos for hours at a time,she loves mothra,and the cosmos. We are very happy with this set.

As a life-long fan of the big lizard, I found this collection to be the best single collection of the films available. The selection is great and covers most all of the stages in Godzilla's long career as both a monstrous force of nature and later, defender of the earth. The prints are wonderful- the best out there, and you get both the Japanese and English versions. (Which are often quite different) This set is a terrific buy too at only about 5.00 per movie. I was especially thrilled to get "Godzilla Raids Again"- the RARELY seen sequel to the original film. Simply stated- Get this set!
