) When my son was younger we read Boy and Going Solo - Raold Dahl's two part autography. Boy is great but Going Solo was probably out favorite book of everything we read (and we were and are voracious readers). Now I give Goling Solo (or both Boy and Going Solo) to nieces and nephews and whenever I want to give a young person a book. We loved the adventure. You can certainly see why Dahl felt authority figures were incompetent and even evil. And every day he wrote to his beloved mother.
