This is by far one of the best games ever made. The storyline is original and all of the necessary RPG gameplay elements were in place. The game is turn-based and the characters increase their stats by levels, so it plays out like a classic RPG/Adventure game. The game also has a decent amount of gameplay time for just the main story alone. There are several side-quests you can participate in and some of them begin in the original Golden Sun game. This game allows you to transfer saved clear data from the first game so you can keep your previous data if you choose to do so. You can transfer this data via GBA link-up cable or you can use a password. This save data really comes in handy in the next game when the first Golden Sun characters reappear in the sequel. I was very excited when I finished the first title and I couldn't wait to play the sequel. If you are an RPG/Adventure game fan, don't hesitate to pick up this game. Like the last game, this story is exactly one half of the story. You can't fully understand the story unless you have played both games. Both titles were intentionally made that way because a sequel was planned in the series from the beginning. The beginning of this game is set in the same place and time that the last game left off at, but in another area shortly before the last battle begins. Both Golden Sun games didn't disappoint by any means. This series is a masterpiece!

Golden Sun: The Lost Age

Created: 13/04/07
Released April 14, 2003 (US), Camelot's second installation of the Golden Sun series is, as it's predecessor, an RPG. Resuming from the storyline of the original game, this saga takes the player all throughout the fictional world of Weyard, from burning deserts to hidden seas. This newest installation of the game is much like the original, but it has one major twist: now you play as Felix and the bad guys. With the same objectives as Golden Sun, Felix journeys to light the four elemental lighthouses for unknown reasons. The battle system in this game is much like the original, with new unique psynergy, djinn, and characters to wield in battle. With many varying differences than the original, this game is definitely not a duplicate, and will keep the player busy for hours. You won't want to walk away from this game until every secret is discovered, every item and ability unlocked. This is certainly a game worth playing.

A Great Old-School RPG

Created: 07/04/07
I played the orig' golden sun when it came out years ago, and have been waiting ages to play the second. It’s hard to find a copy of the sequel- a copy popped up at a local shop but it was really expensive! ebay is your best bet for finding a reasonable priced cart'

This game is just as good as I’d hoped for, a proper level-grinding RPG; we don’t see many of them these days! Some great combat elements, (abilities boost via djinn) effects, and summons (which are fantastically animated) - also the battle scenes are rendered in a semi-3d style- a real treat. The character sprites are sharp and easy to individually distinguish, the music is a bit repetitive and can get on your nerves after a few hours- but don’t let that spoil things!

The game mechanics are easy to learn, you've got the basics sorted after about 4 random battles, and in an hour experimenting with the djinn system, you'll be playing like a pro!

If you were ever a <16bit gamer then this game will bring back some fond memories of a now slowly fading game style. If you’ve got a few extra pennies lying around then get a copy you won’t regret it!

One of My Favorite Games

Created: 21/01/10
I love this game! The Golden Sun series is arguably one of the best RPG's of all time. When you consider the limited graphics engine that the game's developers had to work with, the game is visually stunning, but looks aside, the gameplay is phenomenal. This game has so many things that and RPG fan wants: an engaging plot, well-developed characters, upgradeable skills, collectible items, hours of side-quests, plenty of fighting, powers that can be used in and out of battle, and the list goes on. I would recommend this game to anyone (that is to say the first and second games together) and would encourage older gamers like myself to bust out their Gameboys and take this for a spin.

Best handheld jRPG-RPG game of all times

Created: 23/09/08
I played it before on my computer, and even with the game boy advance graphics and limitations this game is just awsome, there are very few RPG games with sucha a good storyline on PC's and other consoles not to mention handhelds, Id take GS 2 over any DS title released so far, mayby with the exeption of the DS Zelda but I havent played it yet so Im not so shure even about that. This game is just a must have for everyone that puts a really good storyline over graphics [Im not saying those are bad but it is a GBA title, 2d animations cant get any better than in GS2, but with 3d on DS it is a little bit old school], also the fights and the tactical aspect of useing all the avilable powers/items/weapons/moves/dijins is just enormus, theres so many kinds of things you can do with the characters, even with just 4 stats [AGI, STR, LUK and DEF + HP and PP] the list of options [wether you want a tank type knight with healing abilities or powerful berserk with a lot of hp and attack or crit specced ninja, its all there and those are just some of the fighter classes] is almost endless, now with 4 characters in party [2 casters and 2 fighters at the beggining, but that can be changed to whatever combination later on in the game] its just pure fun to just swith around the dijins [thac how you set different classes for each character, by useing the right combination of elemental creatures called dijins assigned to the character, they represent the 4 basic elements, earth, fire, water and wind] and try out the options it gives you, and later on in the game the hidden summons that need to be found and unlocekd with their great destructive power and awsome animations are a really nice addition to already cool combo.
if you have eather DS or DS light, or if you still have a GBA GS2 is a must have, its around 20 hours of pure fun [if not more + hidden stuff and a few side quests] and right now you can get it really cheap. I advise trying GS 1 first throu, it's not as cool as the second part but its still kickin pretty hard and the storyline that begins with it continues in the second part [its really a good idea to start with GS 1].
