A Wonderfully Illustrated Cookbook

) I already owned this cookbook and it is the first book I go to when I am looking for cooking information. It is beautifully illustrated and that is the primary reason why I bought it as a gift. I like to see how an unfamiliar recipe looks before trying something new. In the front section it features full color photographs of each recipe. Each recipe has illustrations describing procedures, as well as a time guide to tell you how long it will take to prepare each recipe from start to finish. It has other basic information which you would expect in any good, comprehensive cookbook (equivalences,kitchen tools, cuts of meat, buying tips, etc.) and I would especially recommend it to novice cooks or anyone who feels that their kitchen knowledge is lacking. I have many other cookbooks that I could use, but the user friendly illustrations of this particular book draw me back to it time and time again.

) This cookbook is delightful as it has pictures of many many of the dishes for which the method is set out. For an individual, who, is unfamiliar with booking and baking, it is more than ideal. The book goes into great detail, which, is worth a read no matter where you are in the cooking experience. I have made several of the recipes and every time that I cook from the book, those that I serve are happy, extremely well satisfied and delighted with the dish I have just prepare. The instructions are easy to fall, the book a wonderful experioence to read and to prepare from for your family and friends.
Great cookbook!

This was my very first cookbook. I loved the illustrations for every recipe and the instructions were great. I used this book so much that the pages and binding started coming apart...it's over 30 years old. I love it so much I wanted to purchase another to replace mine and found it right here at a great price on EBay. It actually was in better shape than I thought it would be when I received it.

My wife is a collector of cookbooks, she has hundreds. But this is her "go to" cookbook. She has worn out three copies. So every time her current copy starts to fall apart (literaly, pages all over the place) I buy her another copy. She loves this book and I love the food she makes from it!
Excellent Overall Cookbook

This book was published in 1980 and have not been able to get my hands on this particular version until now. It is an overall great book for beginners and seasoned cooks. The illustrations are wonderful and useful. The categories, e.g. cuts of beef, pork, etc. come with illustrations and explanations of different cuts are perfect. The recipes are tried and true and never fail. It's like a dictionary - thank you Good Housekeeping!
