GOOD -
1) video is excellent 2) sound is nearly exactly what you hear! (without water proof case) 3) stills are good. 4) battery is long lasting. 5) the suction cup base has over 10hours on it at more than highway speeds and is still very solid - NEGATIVES: - 1) at high speeds, the 1080p seems abit jumpy, but only a lil, and that very high speeds. (close to 200mph) and that may be just due to vibration/wind. 2) the case, while very durable, the lens seems to scuff easily. luckily they are not that expensive or hard to replace. 3) night time shots are difficult, but street lamps are about as dim as it can go, and the video quality suffers. 4) it seems to auto adjust stills for exposure, so low light stills are tricky to time and need to be held steady, but other wise doable. - NEUTRAL: - 1) wide angle lens is cool but a pain to get used to. the lcd screen is suggested. 3) wished they provided a way to change the wide angle lens with other easily. 4) menu, the learning curve might be a bit much for the "on screen display" folks. but you will learn it in time. 5) need a quick release for the suction cup base. right now i have to screw and unscrew the cam case to the base, or remove the cam from the case. - OVERALL: - still a very good cam over all! i have goten some really good shots in with thing, still and video! i plan on buying the screen and "universal" optic stuff, and keeping this cam for ever :) (and sry about the big block of text, ebey wont support a break line)

Great action / sports camera!
Created: 10/02/10
First of all, I bought this cam from eBay USA as this way it was much cheaper than getting it locally (Romania) or even from the Old Continent.
I bought the Helmet Hero HD variant of the camera which comes bundled with a bunch of accessories that grant an easy fixture to your sports helmet be it for snowboard / ski, biking or even skydiving. The marketing blabber says that the sticky accessories that come with the camera feature industry grade 3M tape and I'm not going to contest that. I stuck a fixture on the front of my helmet and another one on the side of my girlfriend's and they are rock solid. For the girlfriend's helmet I need to use the L shaped adapter so that the resulting movies do not turn out sideways. Actually you can twist and turn this adapter in any way you like allowing yourself to take some pretty creative shots of the wearer's body / legs doing the snowboarding / biking or whatever action you decide to film. I also (separately) got a suction cup to be able to affix the camera to my car. I'll just say that even after releasing the lock you still have to pull hard on the suction cup to release the surface - so there's next no way it will come off by itself. In the box you'll also get a head strap to be able to affix your camera headlamp style, a strapped mounting plate for vented helmets, two types of cables to connect the cam to your TV as well as user manuals and warranty.
The camera itself is contained in a pretty solid clear plastic enclosure which features two types of back doors. One makes the camera waterproof while the other will allow for better sound. While using the waterproof door the sounds are muffled - but it's better to be safe than sorry - for example I succeeded in dipping the cam in deep snow in one snowboarding section while having the open door on. A bit of wiping later it was like new, but my heart jumped.
There are several shooting modes but you'll obviously use the filming feature the most. The movies turn out great - if the scenery is well lit they'll easily be as beautiful as the marketing footage on the GoPro site. You can also take timed shots with the cam - to build them later into a timelapse movie later. There's also a photo option which will yield funky wide angle shots. The settings menu is a little cryptic but with the manual at hand it's easy to customize the device's features to your liking. There are only two buttons and no viewfinder or display (except the status LCD) but the lack of display can be considered a good thing too: less weight and less power drainage. If the camera is on your helmet the audio signals it emits when turning it on / off and when it starts / stops shooting will help you know what's going on.
There's much to say, but the space is running out so it's time for the conclusion: I really like this gadget and for me it's got a ton of applicability: snowboard, biking, driving, RC car, RC helicopter... I even thought about mounting it on my dog. :) The possibilities are vast and the resulting footage looks great and is fun to watch. Bottom line: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Unfortunately picture and sound quality are grouped together above. In my opinion my score of 4/5 refers to picture quality only!
The sound quality is a joke and if I could give it a seperate score it would score 0/5, even when not in its housing.
In the case of my camera the sound recording is so inferior to the picture quality that I have to look to find a way of recording my soundtrack seperatly and then I have the problem to try and synchronise the sound to the picture.
I sent a sample of a recording to Gopro and they assured me that the quality was within normal parameters.
For this reason alone I am very dissapointed with my purchase.
Another important issue is that unless you are located in front of the camera it is difficult to confirm that the camera is actually on, as with high noise levels in some action shots the beeps are barely audible.

The seller sold a nice camera in original package.
The camera its good and its not so good.
Size of image, ok, HD, but its not so nice, does not have a amazing white balance.
The worst thing about her its that in the manual says its sensitive to light and its not. I have gone to caving, and I realized that its not so good.
You have to read the manual, because she has only 2 buttons and several options, so its not so easy to use.
She is very light, good point, even you have doubt if its not chinese camera.
The battery really take a long time to run out, can record even more than the manual says. Almost full out my SD 32GIGAS before the battery ends.
But for the price its a good option, you can put in the helmet and not worried so much, she can take some punchs.
One good point she came with several acessories, since cables, to several supports to put in the car, bike and especcially helmet.
