Album Notes
Contains previously unreleased material.Boston: Tom Scholz (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, piano, electric piano, keyboards, organ, bass, drums, special effects); Brad Delp (vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, percussion); Fran Cosmo, David Sikes (vocals); Kimberly Jorgensen (spoken word); Barry Goudreau (guitar); Fran Sheehan (bass, percussion); Sib Hashian (drums, percussion); Jim Maseda (drums).Recorded at Foxglove Studios, Watertown, Massachusettes in winter 1975; Capitol Studios, Hollywood, California; The Record Plant, Los Angeles, California in spring 1976.Though Boston's GREATEST HITS package does a fine job of compiling the AOR staple's most-well known tracks ("More Than a Feeling," "Don't Look Back," "Rock & Roll Band"), collectors will want to own this album for the three new songs. "Higher Power" adds a metallic, Blue Oyster Cult-ish spooky edge to the classic Boston formula while "Tell Me" recalls the classic ballad "Amanda." The standout, however, is the multi-layered take on "The Star Spangled Banner," which shows Tom Scholz can Boston-ify even the most well-worn chestnuts.

Boston Greatest Hits

Created: 17/05/09
BOSTON - GREATEST HITS contains several of the band's most memorable hits, including "More Than A Feeling," "Don't Look Back," "Amanda," and several others. I'll respectfully disagree with another reviewer who lamented the inclusion of "Rock & Roll Band" on this album; to the contrary, this is one of the band's signature songs in terms of style, instrumentation, and energy. What I don't get is the inclusion of tracks that fall remarkably short when compared to the rest of the music on the CD--singles like "A Man I'll Never Be" and "Tell Me," the very first song.

Boston's Best 16 tracks of their great Music

Created: 12/11/08
You will get "More than a feeling" from listening to these fine musicians. The vocals are accented by guitar leads that are the best of this genre and time. Listening will certainly give you "Piece of Mind". You get the idea and need to get this CD. A note, The band has reformed just recently with a new lead singer (He passes away due to personal problems)the new man is sid to duplicate the Boston sound exactly. The new lead singer (name unknown) came to their attention from an email saying that they knew a young fan that was able to do a perfect copy. To make a long story short, they showed up at his home and told him he has a demo to do and he made the grade. So soon to coe is a tour of Boston!!!

Good 70's rock and roll

Created: 15/10/09
I've wanted this Boston greatest hits CD/album for a long time. They are not my favorite band, but one of many. I've always enjoyed them on the radio and the deal I received on ebay was too good to pass up. I would say half the songs on this CD I'm familiar with (the radio plays) some of the other songs are good as well and a couple are probably just filler. But the bottom line is the hits are still strong and enjoyable today for someone in my age bracket (50+). I don't know how the kids feel about well written rock and roll of yesteryear, but for me it's all about retro and the fun I had in my life at the time when these songs first came out. Boston was the most popular band to emerge from 1976, the year I graduated high school.

For a used CD you sure couldn't tell it......

I didn't have many albums as a teenager. Now I'm older, and able to get ANY (CD) I want within my budget. I can add Boston's Greatest Hits to my collection. I LOVE the song "Peace of Mind". That HAS to be my FAVORITE!!!

The condition is EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!! I'm playing it now. It's just outside your front door...

Thanks again for this opportunity to have some more ROCK -n-Roll.

Time Travel

Created: 07/12/09
Having endured high school in the mid-seventies, Boston provided a nice, guitar-driven addition to my teenage soundtrack of life. With songs that span the multi-platinum existence of the band, all you need to do to achieve time travel is slip the disc into the player, push play, lean back and take off.
Good stuff, even if for an old guy like me.
