Movie synopsis

Once again, for the fifth year in a row, TV weatherman Phil Connors (Bill Murray) is forced to cover the Groundhog Day ceremonies in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, an assignment he truly despises. But this year something truly bizarre happens after he finishes the report: When he wakes up the next morning, ready to leave, he discovers it's February 2 all over again. He tries to tell his producer, Rita (Andie MacDowell), what's happening, but neither she nor anyone else understands; only he remembers that they've already lived through Groundhog Day. When the same thing happens the next morning, he thinks he's going insane and wreaks havoc all through the town. More and more mornings pass, all of them February 2, and all of them with an ever angrier Phil. Desperate to escape, he even tries suicide, but still another February 2 dawns. As he starts realizing that his exploits are not making time march on any quicker, Phil begins to change his behavior, performing a series of lifesaving tasks until he becomes a model citizen, hoping it will be enough to get him out of Punxsutawney forever. Along the way he learns more about the people around him--and himself--than he ever thought possible. The film is extremely well put together by director Harold Ramis, and the script by Danny Rubin and Ramis is sharp and clever. The actors--many of whom have to perform essentially the same scene over and over again, with only subtle differences--are a riot.

EVERYBODY MUST SEE THIS MOVIE ONCE !!! HYSTERICAL !!!

Groundhog Day starring BILL MURRAY & ANDIE McDOWELL is Tremendous!! What a great film. Not only is it Hysterically Funny, but the Story is one like no other. It's a Fantasy, or is it? Can you really live the same day OVER & OVER again, till you get it right!? In some ways, I guess this is EXACTLY what we are ALL doing! When you see this possibility laid out in front of you, you have to search your heart & soul as to what YOUR intentions and true desires are in life, and if they really hold water, or if you are living inside of yourself, for your own selfish gain. Well selfish gain does not work in Groundhog Day, where TV Weatherman Phil Connors learns the Hard Way what it takes to truly Live and experience Real Love in his previously and otherwise shallow & self-centered life. He finally finds that it takes self-sacrifice rather than self-indulgence, and caring about others first, that brings true joy and gets you what you want, and really need. Chris Elliot also does a great job in the film, and plays a funny supporting role, and the Character of NED RYERSON, and old Classmate of PHIL's is super funny! Set in Punxsutawney, PA., this film gives a real "down-home small-town" feeling, and scence after scene of things you will never expect, catch you off-guard and either laughing you butt off, or being amazed. What would you do if you woke up to find out that everyday was Groundhod Day, and you were living the Same Day over and over again? And even if you killed yourself, you still woke up in the same place?! How would you get out? Bill Murray and Andie McDowell show is that "Love is the Answer" and the way out, in this very Funny film. If you haven't seen it yet, it is well worth your time.

Doomed to Repeat Your Days

A Weather goes to report on whether the groundhog sees his shadow. He keeps repeating the day with humorous results. He comes to the realization that nothing he does comes a difference. He becomes very depressed at living forever repeating the same day. The only thing that he can changes is himself. He slowly starts to improve himself. He even starts to like the town that he is trapped in. I have a copy of this film which I like to watch once a year or so. This movie has heart.

Ground Hog Day Over And Over Again.

Created: 06/01/08
It's a film about a narcisistic weatherman who goes to a small town to report on Ground Hog Day. By some weird twist of events, he strangely keeps on waking up on Ground Hog day with hilarious things happening to him. In the end, he realizes that doing good not only made people like him, but also made him a better person. A geat film fast becoming a classic. A must see film to watch with family and friends.

Groundhog Day

Good movie with interesting plot. Nice choice of actors, too. It's about a man that keeps living the same day over and over, and must figure out how to stop the cycle. Along the way, he has to figure out how to improve his relationship with certain individuals.
