A Guide Book of Morgan Silver Dollars by Q. David Bowers (2007, Paperback)

This book is chuck full of great information as is almost anything written by Q. David Bowers. Dats by date analysis with information that would be very hard to compile by yourself. Advice for collecting each date and mintmarkwith census reports for mintstate coins. The only shortfall in my opinion is there is no mention for collection under mintstate coins. For a collector on a budget, a fair amount of the optimum collecting grades are out of reach. I would have found the book alot more helpful is there was some advice for collecting in AU grades. Still a must have book.

There are alot of Morgan dollars out there, and it is a good idea to learn a little before spending too much money. This book gives a very good breakdown of how to grade Morgan Dollars and an idea of what you are paying for. I have not finished reading it yet, but if you are going to collect Morgan Dollars, I highly suggest reading up on the subject.
