The best of the Band Guitar Hero

    Created: 10/04/10
For the over improvements made to GH5 from WT makes the game worth a buy (if your into music synth. games) With more features and game mode's it made the game funnier than just play a song, record the data and pick a new one.... With these features they also pumped the basic career up with earnable game objects but have challenges to unlock if it be on Bass too playing Drums or Singing(this for some killed the game since certain people WILL not notice how i say WILL; play bass or sing some people are just stuck in their own ego's)

For multiplayer its great with new modes and ability to switch up band members, the only downfall is after the 7mounth of being released the populations online have dropped highly, mostly now only finding people for Quick play, finding 2+ people for Rockfest,Band VS Band, Face-Offs are very low low populated so if achievements are your thing than these 4-6 are going to be hard unless u has friends to boost.)

For the Achievements they are pretty up straight and forward, some easy some hard. For a small example some hard ones are playing a song as 4 Bass or 4 Vocal (you'll understand why these are hard to do if your a GH player from the past lol.... but over all its mostly game play related so you gotta play the game to unlock your skill and knowledge will help unlock more)

Overall : very happy when i bought GH5, game play and graphics are soo much better than previous GH titles, and over and out-do Rockband games. The DLC which is growing every month has been getting better for selections but still personally am finding lot's of people on WT and 5 with no DLC....... fyi my GH5 list is 224songs) And now that you can find the game cheaper and or used at better prices, you really cant go wrong unless your not a Music Synth. Fan

Great guitar..bigger than older Les Paul, it's awesome.

My nephew picked up Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock recently for the 360. I played it a bit and, i gotta tell you, i'm totally addicted to this game unlike many i've ever encountered. It's fun to begin with, but, if you love music, it'll take you to a whole other level. We now practically own every single GH game. I have World Tour on my pc, which all guitars work with, the usb plugs right in and windows 7 detects it no problem. I also purchased a wireless receiver for the pc so i can rock out w/ my nephew in head to head. I don't know how many more titles will come of GH since their next project seems to be more band/party oriented than individual guitarist. But, whatever they release next, depending on playlist, i am likely to buy it.

The playlist in this title, GH5, it's decent. WT has the best playlist, imho, but it came w/ a faulty guitar in the bundle so i'd suggest picking up this bundle, if only for the guitar and consider the game a freebie. I bought the Aerosmith guitar bundle for my nephew. Also off eBay. It's at a great price point. The guitar is excellent as well. Though, i did have to re-adjust my techniques switching from that one to this new one. It's considerably bigger and the neck is longer because of the new slider. I haven't been able to use it yet, it's come up but i'm not quite at the point where i can take my hand off the buttons and slide it down..it works beautifully, though. I have tested it out, just not during a game.

So, in closing..if you are even remotely into music, or just always wanted to be a rock star, you HAVE TO get this game. I don't care if it's GH5 or Aerosmith or even Metallica. It's worth it and will, if only, expand your knowledge of classic music for you and your kids.

Very nice and surprising game :-)

Well thankfully I had enough money to buy Guitar Hero 5. This was the nail in the coffin to me, I hated world tour and smash hits. (metallica was good though) Easy to see and say. I'm a rock band fan, and a beatle fan, I'm more so excited for this, but since Neversoft took over GH it seems like the series has gone downhill a lot and I much perfer Harmonix and rock band. But for me, if they didn't do good on GH5 then this was it.

So as my teaser says, it's really a pleasent surprise. I fired the game up and went to party play, which is a nice change, it eliminateds everything that might put a damper on the game (the star system, score, and etc) it's really just about having fun.

The setlist is the worst part in my opinion. Yes they have a lot of tracks and the import system with DLC and world tour songs to GH5, which is great. They have tons of bands to appeal to every taste in music, which again is great. But the songs themselves are decent, really good, or I could care less meh.

Your avatar can play as well on a side note.

The only really new thing is party play, which works perfectly and smoothly, it's a fantastic addition. I also really like how they changed the backrounds of everything, like the bands playing and such, it just looks a lot better then any other guitar hero.

I'm gonna make this review very breif, short, and to the point. This is one of the best Guitar Heros out there, while in opinion (and don't flame me for this.) Rock Band 2 is better, this game is damn good fun and I think if your a fan of music games and this genre you should definetly check it out.

    Guitar Hero 5

'm only about a quarter thru the game so far, and I love it. The track listing is far superior to other games - they've pulled older (meaning early 2000s, 90s, 80s, etc.) songs that I actually recognize, which is a HUGE plus. Love the format and the new multi-player features.

The only complaint I have so far is that where you're at as far as star power is kind of hard to determine, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Me - I'm a 31-year old married woman that isn't a die-hard GH player - I have yet to get past Medium - but I have fun with it. But I do like this game, and think that others in a similar mindset will think the same.

    9.0 Presentation
Neversoft stripped away a layer of annoyance in just about every area of the game.
    8.0 Graphics
The animations are starting to show some life even if the art style still leaves room for improvement.
    8.5 Sound
Better sound samples and good mixing. The track list is all over the place.
    9.0 Gameplay
A few tweaks to the band play improve on the winning formula. Rock on.
    9.0 Lasting Appeal
Challenges and new modes will keep you rocking. Importing tracks gives it even more value.
