Product Information
Your jock will be rocked with the first DS entry in Red Octane's music series for guitar gods. This portable version features the same rhythm-based "play to the music" gameplay of console game, and will even have its own peripheral to get the job done: Red Octane has developed what it's calling the Guitar Grip to give players the ability to finger chords in similar fashion as the console version's guitar peripheral. Guitar Hero: On Tour contains a wealth of licensed songs from bands as Nirvana, OK Go, and No Doubt, allowing gamers to rock out to tunes by some of their own guitar heroes. Players are able to pick from six different guitarists to represent them in-game, with secret venues and outfits to unlock. And in addition to a full Career Mode, the game also has co-op or competitive two-player play, including special "On Tour" challenges exclusive to the DS game (with power-ups that will send opponents into a frenzied touchscreen autograph session or set their pyrotechnics display to go haywire and require players to blow out the fire.)

This game ROCKS!!!! Its amazing and so much fun.

    Created: 25/08/08
I love this game, it is so much fun. Anybody would love it, even if you are not a big fan of video games. It's great for boys and girls. The songs included in it are amazing and very current, unlike DDR where the music's from 20 years ago or is popular in like africa. It takes a little bit of skill but you get better as you go along and the more you play it. The characters are really cool and the style of cloths and stuff is great. I will admit that some of the girl cloths are a little in apropprate with the stomach showing but not really bad. I don't play many video games and I am a girl and I do lots of baton twirling and am a honors student but I still love this game. It is my favorite. I played it once on X-BOX and was horrible at it but I still thought it was fun, and now that I am getting better at it its great. But I will warn you that if you buy it off of ebay make sure that it contains all of the parts. The person I bought it off of did not list in her description that it did not include the hand grip and I bought it from her and there is no way of getting it until redoctan can get the part in seperatly, so ask lots of questions. It is definatly a game worth getting!!!!

Brand New Guitar Hero: On Tour

    Created: 18/07/08
It's an amazing game in mobile form! It's also extremely unique since it uses the normally unused Game Boy Advance game slot to add a handle with buttons (guitar grip) to your Nintendo DS. And if you're afraid that your older version of the DS can't use the guitar grip, don't worry because it comes with an adapter for you guys! It also comes with an amazing guitar pick stylus! Theres also an amazing Duel mode with attacks that are all unique to the DS and the ways to fix them are also very unique i.e. blowing out fire on your guitar, the two screens switching, or signing autographs before you can play again! It also has the normal things features and play modes from the regular game! On the downside the game has just over 25 songs total, and even if you keep your wrist straight, like it shows on the package, your wrist will hurt after long periods of play! All in all great game-play and a must have in your Nintendo DS collection! Especially from Ebay where you can save 10 bucks on a brand new system easily!

    Fan-freaking-tastic

Guitar Hero: On Tour for Nintendo DS is absolutely everything I was hoping it would be. I was a bit hesitant to buy it because I wasn't sure how like the other Guitar Hero games it would be like, but it's shockingly similar. Sure, since it's handheld there are some differences, but I've come to prefer this over any of the console versions. It takes a while to find a comfortable play style, but once you've found a way to hold the DS with the add-on, it's perfect.

The song selection in this game is great. It's got a nice mix of current, popular rock tunes and older ones, as well. While I might not listen to some of the music on my own, I love playing through all of the songs this game has to offer. If you're a fan of Guitar Hero or even just a fan of rhythm/music based games, I'd recommend this wholeheartedly.

    Less than expected

    Created: 11/03/09
The game is fun, but there are a few issues I have...
    1. The hand grip is hard to get my fingers around and I am a college student so I can imagine that its harder for a kid.
    2. There are not that many songs. I expected it to be similar to the Guitar Hero for play station and/or Wii and/or all those other gaming systems that are out there with an almost endless possibility of songs. That is just not the case...

I mean it is a Guitar hero game though, so I guess the morale of the story is, know that its going to be hard to reach the finger controls especially for kids, know that your hand is going to cramp up (they even warn about it on the game), and know that you are going to have to buy lots of other style games to have a decent number of songs to play...

If you know all of that going in, then you are set !!!
