Product Information
Developed by Red Entertainment, Gungrave O.D. takes the carnage-based formula of the original, adds more characters and some new abilities to the mix. Expanding on its predecessor, it throws you in a cel-shaded world of exaggerated firefights and near delirious action sequences. In addition to franchise hero Grave, there are two additional fighters to choose from: Rocketbilly Redcadillac and Juji Kabane, who meet up with Grave at the beginning of the game. With the exception of the very first training battle, all three characters have the same set of missions to go through and deliver a different experience. The title features 12 different stages as well as in-game cheats that are unlocked through successive and prolific gameplay. Features the work of anime artists Yasuhiro Nightow (Trigun) and Kosuke Fujishima (Sakura Wars) and a soundtrack composed by Tsuneo Imahori (Trigun, Hajime No Ippo).

Major flaws, yet I can't put it down.

Gungrave gives you every reason too hate it but also every reason too love it. Outside of really cool character models the games graphics are quite bad and don't even get me started on platforming portions, they are awful and frustrating as Grave can't jump worth nothing. The game also features some horrible slow down at times which I just don't understand because yes their are a ton of guys on the screen and a ton of stuff blowing up but none of it is very detailed as I said the graphics are far from top notch. So why do I like this game? Why a 4 out of 5? As I said Grave looks cool and is cool and shooting things and blowing things up with him is an absolute blast and their are a ton of guys too shoot and blow up. You have two huge guns and while you can run aroud and shoot it is actually better too stand still in one place and rapidly press fire which sends grave into a crazy burst move where he starts going crazy firing his gun lighting fast all over the place, while he is doing this you can rotate him around too take guys out in all directions. Also lets not forget about Grave's coffin, you can deal major hurt with it as it is a rocket launcher and will also be upgraded too other devestating weapons as you progress, you can also swing the coffin around you for a mele attack. After beating the game you can actually play as two other character's and while their cool their not as cool as Grave. The biggest reason too get this game is the price, you should be able too get it for less than 10 bucks.

More bullets, more explosions, triple the action

Beyond The Grave returns and now he is joined by two new comers, and this time it goes beyond the mafia scene. With Harry McDowell gone, a new crime syndicate steps up with a new product called Seed. What is Juji's connection to this? Does Billy have the missing pieces of the story? And why does it have have come down more orgmen, military, mafia, deadmen, and other forces gunning for Beyond The Grave? One thing is for sure, it's time to kick some ass again.

There have been serious improvements to the world of Grave. With three seperate stories, fighting styles, and overkill levels who can't say that the dead don't have any kick? New story, cutlscenes, more action, and for the first time, english voice actors. If you played the first Gungrave then you know that this too is a must have.

    A GREAT GAME INDEED!!! (Spoilers)

    Created: 05/03/07
What's not to like about the gungrave series? This one, based off the events foretold in the anime, it's based five years after the events that partook between Brandon/Grave, Harry, and the group Millenion. It doesn't quite pick up after the first game, however its fast-paced action makes up for it. Grave has been revived by Mika because she fears that the orginization is falling apart due to recent events, a new face has shown itself in town, and is using necrolization and a new form of mutation called 'SEED' to do its bidding. When their commandant, Don Corleone challenges the leading cabinet of Millenion, by sending his goons, and slaughtering them all, Mika decides, that although she does not prefer to do so, she revives her old friend. In doing so, he gains his power back, defeats this new foe, and eventually, through alien technologies, not known to man, is restored to his old self, the alive-and-kicking, Brandon Heat!

Short but sweet, better if you like the series

    Created: 21/11/08
Since I am a fan of the anime, I liked the game. If you've never seen it, it might not stick as well, and if you don't like anime at all, well, you shouldn't get this game.

It's a very straightforward button masher, lots of stuff flying around and explosions. Decent replay value, but like I said, if you don't like the anime you shouldn't pick this title up.
