Product Information
In the wild western countryside, Billy Bob, hero of the Gunsmoke Nintendo video game does not spare a single miscreant. With his gunslinger, he thrashes the bandits that disrupt decorum in this Nintendo video game. You play as the valiant bounty hunter in this scrolling shooter game, using the Nintendo controller to work the virtual weaponry. In this Nintendo video game, the screen automatically scrolls upward. At each level of this scrolling shooter game, you are met by a 'boss', each having different skills like rifle handling, knife thrusting, fire spitting among others. Earn or purchase better equipment like boots for speedy movement, rifles for short length and bullets for quicker shots in the Gunsmoke video game. Always be on the lookout for stars, bottles, bags, dragonflies, and cows in the Gunsmoke game as they secure valuable points for you. In the wild western essence, it is fun to see the characters dressed in casual denims and wearing hats. Up to two players can simultaneously play this game.

Great SHMUP

Created: 28/07/08
Gun.Smoke is a Vertical Scrolling "Shoot 'em Up" (SHMUP), originally an arcade classic; it was later ported to many systems including the NES.

Game play is very simple; the player takes control of a Cowboy in the Wild West bent on freeing the citizens of Hicksville from bandits, Indians, ninja, and the infamous Wingate Family.

In order to advance from one stage to the next, a stage boss must be defeated. In order for the boss to appear, the player must either find or buy the "Wanted Poster" item; otherwise the level will loop.

Weapons consist of shotguns (spray of bullets), machine guns (rapid fire), magnums (unmatched explosive power), the starting generic guns, and a "Smart Bomb". (Basically, if you get shot when this item is in your possession, you won't die but all the enemies on screen will.)

There are numerous power ups, such as boots to increase speed, rifles to increase shot distance, and a horse that lets the player take more hits; (among others.)

It's a very addicting game, great graphics, beautiful music, challenging, and just overall awesome; definitely recommended.

One of the most underrated NES titles!

Gunsmoke, or Gun.smoke to avoid copyright issues with the classic TV show, is one of the most unheralded and underrated members of the NES in my opinion.

You're essentially a bounty hunter in the old west and you traverse through several levels fighting bandits, ninjas and Native Americans from a fixed overhead view as the camera scrolls downward (much like other Capcom classics like Commando and 1943.)

While not the most graphically impressive NES title, it has fun game play and fantastic music. One interesting tidbit is that there are two cover art versions of the game and which is better may only be a matter of preference (as far as I know there is no value or collectors difference.)

This is a title that no NES library can be complete without and can be easily found for less than ten dollars.

Gun.Smoke for NES

Created: 15/07/10
the game is set in the wildwest and the game does have some glitches but the game is so fun that you dont see it all the time. the gameplay is simple if you have and nes controler you press A to shoot right and B to shoot left and push both A and B at the same time to shoot forward or straight. You can buy weapons and wanted posters as well as other items by scoring points by shooting the enimies in the game. Overall the game is well worth buying to pass some good time. thanks for reading....

This is a good little game. I bought it because I am a cowboy myself, and would think that I would like to play it. It turned out to be a good game. It is not the best game I have ever played, but not the worst for sure.
