Gunstar Super Heroes (Nintendo Game Boy Advance, 2005)

I really do enjoy this game, it's a good follow up on the original Sega Genisis game. There's a lot of solid action and it's not something that you'll play once and forget about, you will return to it several times. It's got two different playable characters and three levels of difficulty for each, and it can be challening on the easiest setting.
My Big problem with it is that it is so short. There are only six levels and each of those are about 10 mins of play time on normal. The levels are very diverse and interesting but they could have strecthed the game out a little longer I feel.
All in all a fun game that can keep you occupied for some time. Something good to do if you have 10-20 minutes to waste or are in a car ride or something. It does what it promises and is probably one of the more interesting side scrollers on the GBA

If you are a fan of the original Gunstar or like games like Contra or Metal Slug and own a Gamboy Advance or a DS then Superheros is a must have. For starters the games graphics are fantastic, i'm not sure if their are any better on the GBA and their even pretty darn good for the DS. The Gameplay is fast and frantic and varied, dozens of enemies pack the screen at one time and the bosses are huge. It has 3 difficullty settings ranging from easy too hard so even if you are not a super hardcore skilled gamer you can play through the entire game but for those of you who like a brutal challenge it will provide one. Problems? Sure, it is way short, only six levels which if your good you will play through in about 30 minutes and I also felt that after the first couple of fantastic stages the level design broke down a bit and their became far too many gimiky stages when all I wanted was too run and gun but with that said it was still quite possibly 30 of the most fun most awsome minutes I have ever spent playing a game and I am still playing it because you can always play through the stages again too try too get a higher score. If you own a GBA or DS Gunstar Super Heros absolutly must be in your collection.

I loved Gunstar Heros on the Genesis, so I wondered if this new "SUPER" version could hold up to its predecessor's glory. I pleased to say it did not disippoint. They even have a little intro talking about the original gunstar team. Awesome. I'm one for flashback sequences...especially when I can remember the original. Great weapons, great enemies, good graphics...its just a good game :) If you like the SNK metal slug type side scroll shooters or if you were a fan of the origianl you'll like this one.

I bought it because I loved the original and I love the GBA platform. It's a great game, quite short, but with unlimited "pick up and play" potential.

It may be short like people criticize it for, but it is a very fun side scrolling action shoot em game.
