Hannibal (DVD, 2004)

The movie Hannibal starring Victor Mature is a good movie. When taken in consideration that this film was produced when it was, I would say that it has a very interesting plot, and historically very educational. Mature was probably the best actor that could have been chosen for the role of Hannibal Barca, an outstanding general that detested the Romans. The acting could have been better, but then, by his own admission, Victor Mature always did admit that he was not a very good actor. He did do a better job of acting in other pictures, like The Robe. However, I believe that this is a movie that's worth watching, just as many ancient classics that were filmed in the 50s and 60s are. Here are my reasons. Many of the ancient classics produced these days, in the early 2000s, are not acted out well at all, the color is not vibrant like the Technicolor of the oldies, and the special effects are way too computer oriented.

I found this movie good because Victor Mature is one of my favorite actors. Although, I do see historical inaccuracies(like Hannibal as a white man), but, knowing when this movie was made, I can over look the flaws and except it as an entertaining adventure. Recommend for sword and sandal lovers.

This is an extremely old classic movie. I was shocked when I found it on eBay. I received the DVD in a matter of days. The case was in tact. It was as if this movie just came out. It is crystal clear and the sound is incredible. I am ticked pink and will purchase again from this individual.

It's been so many years since we've seen Hannibal. Was good to watch it again. My husband especially enjoyed seeing the movie again.

I gave this movie to my husband for Christmas. He last saw this movie as a teenager and he is 62 now. He enjoyed seeing it again. Great memories! Thank you much for having this available to buy. It was a real treat to give this to him.
