Harman Kardon AVR 247 7.1 Channel 65 Watt Receiver

I got a great price and a great piece of equipment- I spent weeks looking over various options after my home theater unit died- I assumed that a sony would be best to match the rest of my current equipment- but I didnt like the options that sony provided and when I saw this piece offered I jumped.

It was a little confusing setting it up as HK has all the bases covered from rca plugs to HDMI, but once we used the HDMI and my wife bought a flat screen tv with matching techology it was a breeze. great sound !!!

a note to all who are as technology disabled as I- please note that it is important to look at the age and sophisication level of your current audio video equipment as you go into the research phase of the buying process for new pieces. Never buy anything new that does not have HDMI!!

So far the receiver seems to deliver great sound processing and the auto tune speaker function is fantastic for calibrating your surround sound speakers. I think this was a great buy but I do wish there were three or more HDMI inputs instead of just two.

I bought this product on ebay because it was what I needed for my own home theater project. It offers the features I was lookinf for, not to mention it's auto speaker's calibration system,HDMI,Component Video,Optical,CoaxialFarudja sound circuitry,etc.Also, it can be upgraded! But most of all, it's unbeateable price!!!

I bought this particular receiver simply because it has all the connections you will need to connect hdmi or component connections and up to a 7.1 speaker setup rated up to 8ohm it can handle pretty much any home theater speaker. The overall reason my family and I enjoy movie night and with this receiver it will clear the sound and picture to the fullest so we can continue to enjoy movie night at our house.

Great and powerful amplified receiver with a sleek, contemporary look. Has plenty of power to kick it out at high volumes, yet amplifies clarity and precision output at low volumes for the most serious of audiophiles. Lots of features with a well thought out remote -- tho sometimes it can get a little confusing --- especially for less technically inclined individuals and the elderly --- but otherwise, all in all, a great amplifier, especially for the price!
I like this receiver so much, I have three (3) of them throughout the house!!!!
