Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle (DVD, 2005)

Danny Leiner, John Cho, Kal Penn|Theatrical release: 2004 | Rating: R (MPAA)

Movie synopsis

Following up his hit DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR? writer-director Danny Leiner has come up with the riotous road-trip comedy HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE. Harold (John Cho) has graduated college and is now working at a cubicle, where he is abused by other workers and forced to do their jobs for them. Kumar (Kal Penn) is expected to go to medical school to follow in the footsteps of his father and brother, but he'd rather spend his time partying. The entire film takes place in one night, as wild Kumar is determined to get a sack of burgers at White Castle, even though his more staid roommate would prefer to stay home and finish a project for his officemates. While Kumar seeks fun and adventure, lusting after nearly every woman he meets, Harold dreams only of Maria (Paula Garces), the woman down the hall whom he likes but is too afraid to talk to. Harold & Kumar's excellent adventure includes an outrageous bathroom scene in a college; a cop who takes his job way too seriously; a group of extreme, rad dudes who harass Harold, Kumar, and a convenience store manager; LAW & ORDER: SVU's Chris Meloni as an incredibly disgusting possible psycho; and Neil Patrick Harris playing himself, making fun of his Doogie Howser image. In addition to plenty of raunchy--and very funny--references to sex, drugs, and rock & roll, Leiner also takes on stereotypes and the meaning of love.

Another classic comedy.

The first time I saw this movie, I will be honest, I did not like it very well. But over time it grows on you (such as the original American Pie did).

The storyline is very simple. 2 guys get hungry after having a bad day at the office and smoking too much dope, so off they go to White Castle. Sounds simple enough right??? WRONG! During their trip their car gets stolen (by Doogy Hosier MD). But if you think this is bad you are sadly mistaken as they also have to deal with various racists and other elements as the film progresses. Best of all the way this film ends it makes itself fully available for the sequel "Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay".

If you like silly drug influenced movies (such as Cheech & Chong, and Jay and Silent Bob) then you will love this one.

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle

Kal Penn is hilarious in this movie. If you love what he's doing in House now--you'll really love him in this role. This movie that will keep you laughing, but it's definitely not for kids due to adult language/content and nudity. Christopher Meloni and Neil Patrick Harris have cameos that will really surprise the viewer. The characters they play are not what you would expect even though Harris is actually playing himself. This is twisted, light-hearted fun for the adult viewer.

Funny and great

I love this movie. It is in my top 5 for favorites.

This is just a pointless comedy about 2 guys who want to go to white castle to fulfill there hunger. Harold and Kumar get grief from a few guys who act tough but are later found out to be posers.

I bought this the day it came out on dvd because i thought it was so great. Since then ive watched numerous times with a few dozen people. This is one of the funniest movies that has been made in the alst few years.

Very funny.

This movie is funny funny Oh man there is a funny joke(s) or a funny moment like every five minutes give or take a few minutes. If you have not seen Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle and you like comedy then you need to see it. My stomach got tight/hurt with laughter. There is farting, strange behavior cause by weed usage, verbal jokes, facial jokes, funny Outtakes and Nudity. I love the scene when those two Asian girls show their Breasts for I had my DVD player doing repetitions on that scene. I am a straight man and if liking females is wrong I do not want to be right. I enjoyed this movie so much that I am going to checkout Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay!
