Movie synopsis
One of TV's longest-running crime dramas (only LAW & ORDER would surpass its record-setting 12-year run), the 1970s television series HAWAII FIVE-O captivated audiences with its smart and stylish take on the standard policier formula. Filmed entirely on the Hawaiian archipelago, the action-packed series followed the crime-fighting adventures of an elite state-police squad anchored by quintessential tough guy Steve McGarrett (Jack Lord) and his detective team of Danny "Danno" Williams (James MacArthur), Chin Ho Kelly (Kam Fong), and Kono Kalakaua (Zulu). ) While the first season of Hawaii Five-0 had a somewhat slower pace, the Second Season really sets the standard for the following seasons. The action is solid, locations exotic and the women are beautiful! Exceptional story lines and excellent acting make Season Two a "MUST HAVE" for any collector of television police series. Well worth the price of admission, Join Steve, Danny, Chin and Kano for some crime fighting "Hawaiian Style"- FIVE STARS ("Book em' Danno")!!!!!!!!!!!!!

) Watching this show is like being on vacation. Too often cop dramas take place in crowded, dirty cities (Kojak, Law and Order, NYPD Blue, Hill Street and just about every other cop show) but this one takes place in beautiful Hawaii. Watching it clears your mind from the grime and stress of everyday life. That is why this show lasted over 10 seasons.
Filmed entirely on location in Hawaii.....you can't beat it.

A TV series that is worth watching 20 years later!

) We purchased these early Hawaii Five O DVDs because my son bought us the 10th season for Christmas and we ate those up. The character development and plotlines are much better than you will see on TV these days and it is wonderful to watch hour long dramas that are actually close to an hour long (unlike 30-40 minutes with commercial breaks nowadays). The quality of the DVD is very high and we cannot find anything about which we are not thrilled.

The beginning of the Great Police Dramas

) It's easy to see why this show was on for 12 years. The stories are still good today. Jack Lord plays the intense by-the-book Steve McGarrett that everyone respects and all criminals fear. He has his steady workforce by his side to bring everyone to justice. With the great location, beautiful girls, and great plot lines - no wonder CBS is bringing this back in an updated version.

) Hawaii Five-O is Great ,The scenery is incredible , who couldn't love the Hawiian islands,It's fun seeing some actors when they were younger on the series,and watching Steve Magarret get the criminal, Being an older show it doesn't have all the special effects that are currently used but still offers a realistic police drama!!
