The book gave basic instructions for the quilting (3 pages). I expected more visuals.I was disappointed. I should have checked with my public library before ordering this book. The Japanese quilting books may not translate into English but by their visuals, I can grasp the concept. Truly disappointed.

Average quilting book.

Created: 11/11/09
I bought this quilting book for my Grandmother-in-law. The book to me is really average and boring. The designs are sub-par and repetitive. And because this is only sample blocks there really is nothing describing the history or techniques of Hawaiian Quilting. If you need some sample blocks then this book is just fine, but if your looking for something more look else where.

How to make an Hawaiian quilt-if you never have before

Created: 05/04/09
I saw the book in a quilt shop and someone else bought the last copy. I went out on eBay to find one and ta-da SUCCESS! Just the book I wanted - Thanks! This is a beginner-intermediate book on Hawaiian quilting techniques and is written in clear and descriptive language. The illustrations are accurate and 'descriptive'. This is very helpful for the project I want to undertake.
