The group's originals are mostly instantly memorable, particularly the hooky-to-the-max "Watch Your Back" (potentially a great summer single) and the gorgeously sung "Paulina." There's also a bracing cover of Burt Bachrach's "Always Something There to Remind Me," which, although falling somewhat short of the aching poignance of Sandie Shaw's original hit version, does serve to erase the painful memory of Naked Eyes's 1983 desecration. A very impressive debut, and in case you're wondering, the cover is a sly homage to the Animals's first LP.
