A Beautiful Story (DVD)
Created: 16/10/06
This movie is a feel-good plain ol' chick flick. I enjoyed the book so much I was extra happy when they came out with the movie.
This is the story of a young girl named Novalee Nation, who most would consider having the typical "white trash" or "redneck" sort of background. Without giving away too much of the story, I'll just put it like this: Novalee faces a pregnancy alone, away from her home and family, after the baby's father abandones her at a Wal-Mart. Novalee shows the strength and heart of a woman throughout the years and trying circumstances that follow. "Where The Heart Is" is a story of compassion that will break your heart and heal it again over and over as you follow this girl into womanhood.
If you appreciate very well-told and developed tales of drama and the trials of life, you will likely appreciate this movie. Excellent acting by very strong actresses put in all the powerful roles. Great special effects and just an overall excellent DVD.

Great "Chick Flick"

This is one of the most heart-warming movies ever! Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd star in this movie about the different twists and turns lives can take. It takes place in a small town in Oklahoma and has a rather vivid tornado scene.

This movie is sometimes on Lifetime TV. The book by Billie Letts "Where The Heart Is" is one of the books on Oprah's book club. The movie was made after the release of the book. Get the book first and then watch the movie. It is a lot more interesting that way. Even though it isn't based on a true story, the plot of this novel and movie is very realistic and could happen to you or someone you love. You should get this book and movie. This may change your life.

Where the Heart is

This moving is so touching to any parent. It brought tears to my eyes to think someone could abandon a pregnant person in the middle of no where.
Novalee (Natalie Portman) finds a home in Walmart where she also gives birth to her baby. She finds new life with a few friends she meets along the way.
Its really a touching story.
I would recommend it for adults and older teens.

NEED A PICK ME UP MOVIE!

This is one of my all time favorite movies! I love Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman. This is all time "Chick Flick" that I can watch over and over. Corney in parts but down to Earth in others. A girl down on her luck finds love in so many places. Heart-Warming, fun with tears and laughter all the way through. Rated PG13 - Would not recommend younger teens to watch. This is a "by my self movie" and a "girls movie night movie".This is a must for anyones DVD collection.
