The opener, "Valencia," is insistent, while the following track, "Homecoming," with its marriage of pathos and urgency, is reminiscent of George Winston's middle period. The album winds down with a trilogy of celestially-oriented songs: "Star Gazer," "Dream Field," and the delicate "Day Star."

) I didn't like this CD as much as Sacred Road or Return to the Heart, but it's still nice to listen to the pleasant piano playing. This CD is strictly piano playing with no other instruments as accompaniment. There are slow songs, medium tempo songs, and faster paced songs. I find that some of the slow songs like "The Embrace" don't hold my interest, but most of the medium tempo songs and the faster paced songs do hold my interest. A couple of the songs like the self-entitled one are available on other CDs, but many of the songs are not and these songs are definitely worth having. I especially like "Dream Field." If you like David Lanz, I would encourage you to buy this CD. Even if you are somewhat disappointed upon listening to it for the first time, this CD contains the type of music that will grow on you and you will enjoy it more and more with every listen.

) I bought this CD after hearing another CD by David Lanz. Although everyone doesn't enjoy the same music, if you like piano you will like this. There are no lyrics only piano accompanied by a few other instruments. Very soothing after a hard day at work.

) My review may not be all that objective since I am a huge David Lanz fan. He had a very distinctive style of playing the piano. This CD captures some of his best. As piano music goes, he is head and shoulders ahead of everyone else.

Beautiful music. Definately worth buying, and at least taking the time to listen. David Lanz is a beautiful composer.

This album is very soothing. What I like best about it is when we play it during homework time, my son, who has ADD with hyperactivity, can obviously focus better. I can't explain why this music calms him down, but it does.
