Hard & Heavy!
Created: 09/05/09
If you're a fan of Heavy Metal Magazine, you'll love these animated movies.
The first takes a bunch of short stories by various authors & combines them all into one feature film length story. It was very well executed.
The second is a single story that still sticks with the brutality & vulgarity that defines Heavy Metal Magazine in the eyes of some.

Stick with the original

The first heavy metal is a classic in both artwork and soundtrack, the second shows what happens when "updates" are attempted. No name bands with terrible CG art. Stick with the orignial film and rock out while your mind is blown! Hail Ulateck!

I received the Heavy Metal /Heavy Metal 2000 Special Edition DVDs on time expected. I saw both movies and I liked it very much; it are terrific and the sound has high quality, very nice music (I like the most Stevie Nicks song "blue lamp"). I love it. The voice of Julia Strand is very convincing, she involves his roll in a proper way.
The Heavy Metal 2000 movie, tells you only one story, from the beginning to end, and the anime has a better quality than first movie, but I advice you to see first the Heavy Metal movie an then the Heavy Metal 2000.

Groundbreaking Animation

Another classic movie from the early 1980s. I loved going to see this one at the midnight movies. In comparison to today's computer animation, Heavy Metal is definitely a little "dated", but the combination of different art styles and the music, make this movie one for the ages.
