MARCIA BRADY BEHIND THE SCENES
Created: 10/04/09
I WAS THEN AND STILL AM NOW A HUGE FAN OF THE BRADY BUNCH. IN MY OPINION MOST ALL PEOPLE LONG FOR THE SIMPLICITY AND IDEALISTIC FAMILY LIFE, THE BRADY BUNCH PORTRAYED. AS DECADES PASS GENERATION AFTER GENERATION CAN RELATE TO AND APPRECIATE THE UPS AND DOWNS,(SITUATIONS) EACH BRADY HAD WEEK AFTER WEEK; (PROBABLY WHY THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN OFF THE AIR.) THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ FOR ANY BRADY FAN; IT TAKES YOU INTO THE REAL LIFE OF ACTRESS MAUREEN MCCORMICK WHO AS WE KNOW PLAYED MARCIA BRADY. IT IS SOMEWHAT OF A SHOCKING READ, WE LIKE TO BELIEVE MAUREEN AND MARCIA ARE ONE IN THE SAME AS ON THE SHOW; ONLY TO READ MAUREEN IS AS NORMAL AS YOU AND I. THE REALITY IS THAT SHOW WAS A SMALL PIECE OF TIME 1969-1974 (5YEARS) THAT WE ALL WANT BELIVE STILL EXISTS AND DON'T WANT TO LET GO....

What a Story of Maureen McCormick!

Everything you wanted to know about Marcia Brady and things you didn't.
Her family life was unhappy - she loved going to work to her other family, the Bradys.
Maureen lived an interesting life after the Brady Bunch. She acted occasionally in different popular shows at the time - Lou Grant, The Streets of San Francisco. She didn't get some roles because of her "Marcia Brady" haunting, but overcame some of that when producers saw that she could act "unMarcia". She dated different actors and singers - Michael Jackson! Although she said he hardly kissed her goodnight - peck on the cheek!
She finally settled down and has a wonderful family. She has become happy with her life and finally embraced Marcia Brady.
It is a can't-put-down book.
Highly recommended for the Brady Bunch fans. Your eyes will be opened on so many things that no one was aware of. One quote from her book states that she is glad that there was no papparazzi like there is now. She would have been caught on things a long time ago. She was always scared that things she did would leak out and people would find out her secrets.

I don't really remember reading a lot of negative press about child stars back when the Brady Bunch was on. I had no idea that Maureen McCormick went through all she did. I wasn't interested in reading this book until I saw her on "The Today Show". When I realized how open and honest she was, I thought that I would like to read about the trials and tribulations of being a Brady. What I got in this book was so much more. It didn't just tell about Marcia but Maureen. It was wonderful. I am so proud of the person she has become. I feel like I know her (and the rest of the Bradys) as people. This was a great book and well worth the cost.

I like the true honesty of Maureen Mccormick a book finally about the inside of the Brady Bunch. A show that was watched by millions including my children and myself every afternoon. It was a great show and book, easy to read and entertaining at the same time.

good book. True 70's story. Must read by anyone who grew up in the 70's. Maureen McCormick made alot of mistakes and lived to talk about it.
