"Hideous!" is horrible fun!

Double-Face. Hulk Baby. Porcupine Baby. The Blemnish.
While not as well known as such other Full Moon franchise characters as Blade, Pinhead, Jester & the rest, they are definitely worthy of being part of that creepy crowd, the main difference being that they are not puppets (well, okay, they're played by puppets, but there is a difference...), they are killer mutant babies.
No, wait, let me clarify that...they are living dead killer mutant babies.
The premise of this bizarre black comedy is that there are eccentric rich weirdos that like to collect "biological oddities" & that there is a black market that supplies them the deformed fetuses & the like that make up their perverse & peculiar collections.
There are, no doubt, such creepy customers in the world, but the movie, of course, takes it one step further by bringing the strange little creatures back to life in order to take revenge.
This is probably one of the best Full Moon features that Charles Band has personally directed, right up there with "Blood Dolls".
The cast is excellent as well, including Rhonda Griffin as the world's dumbest blonde secretary, Tracie May as her bitchy boss, Jerry O'Connell as a cynical private eye, & Mel Johnson Jr. & Michael "Head of the Family" Citriniti as the crazy collectors Napoleon Lazar and Dr. Emil Lorca respectively, with the latter fast becoming Full Moon's resident 'Vincent Price' (& who is returning as Lorca in the soon to be released "Demonic Toys 2").
But the standout performer of the bunch has to be Jaqueline Lovell as Lorca's lovely & dangerously efficient henchwoman Shiela who at one point commits a daring daylight robbery out in the middle of a snow-covered road clad only in black leather hotpants, a pearl necklace & a gorilla mask (yes, it's that kind of movie...).
There are several nice extras too, including the usual VideoZone "making of" documentary & a nice commentary track with Johnson & Citriniti who are obviously having a great time (no subtitles though, which makes it rather difficult to follow the film as they talk).
One word of warning, though...while the case promises a special reel of over 40 Full Moon trailers, as on other discs I've bought from them, my copy did not include this.
As I have mentioned in other Full Moon reviews, those only come on the 2-sided discs which were inserted willy-nilly at the factory regardless of what it said on the back of the box, something that Full Moon claims that it has no control over, so I'm afraid it's really luck of the draw on whether you end up getting this feature or not.
Still, despite this the movie itself is well worth taking a look at, & I strongly recommend giving "Hideous!" a try.
