The Wildcats are back. They start off getting out of school, where Shar Pay makes sure Troy has job at her country club. Troy then in returns gets everyone else a job at the country club too. Gabrielle is the new lifeguard, while Troy, Chad, and the others work in the kitchen. At the country club there is a talent show, which Sharpay and Ryan win every year. Kelsie had written a song for Troy and Gabrielle to sing at the talent show, which later on Sharpay takes (at a faster tempo) for her and Troy to sing at the talent show. Sharpay plots to take Troy away from Gabrielle,by getting him a better job than the rest of the Wildcats. Troy starts changing, all for a "scholarship", starting to act like a jerk, which results in Gabrielle breaking up with Troy, saying she doesn't belong there. After Troy loses all his friends, because he began acting like a jerk and had found out that Sharpay had made it where no Junior Staffers can perform in the talent show, he decides to do something about it, and asks for his old job back with the rest of his friends and quits the talent show leaving Sharpay with nothing, since she had ditched her brother to perform with Troy. She then goes back to Ryan, who had been working with the Junior Staffers on an act, who then leaves her saying she always wanted the spotlight, now she has it. Troy ends up doing the talent show, thinking that he would be performing with Sharpay. He learns a new song within a matter of minutes.

The title was good. They could have added a subtitle.

I liked most of the musical numbers and the different types of songs used. They added more drama and better acting into this movie over the first one. It really made you want to get up and dance with the characters. You could relate to the different situations in the movie. I didn't really like new unshown musical number. It wasn't very interesting or "catchy". I saw the show on the Disney Channel and I fell in the love with the first one so I had to have a copy of the second one as well.
I can't wait for High School Musical Three!!

This is a great family movie. It is full of fun, catchy tunes and promotes the idea of caring friendships. My two year old already sings along with his older siblings!! The High School Musical movies are all terrific movies to share with your kids. I purchased this movie for obvious reasons.....my kids can't get enough of Troy and Gabriella.....and Sharpay and Ryan too:)

If the kids enjoyed High School Musical, they will probably enjoy HSM 2 just as much. There are a couple of really good songs in this movie (Fabulous is a fun one, Sharpay is a great characture of a spoiled brat), and the story is easy to follow. It's a little too packaged for most adults, but the exaggerated character traits of the main charaters makes this easy for younger kids to follow and enjoy. I would not pop it into the DVD player for date night, but for family movie night it's perfect!

This dvd is a good source of learning for kids and adults both. It has great music and it teaches kids about respect. It also teaches the right and wrong ways to go about getting the things you want. They can learn about peer pressure and how to do the right thing. My daughter loves all the high school musicals. She has both of them and can't wait for the third one. We enjoy watching these together as a family.
